We have been members ever since it opened. And every time we have visitors we bring them to the Gallery. I consider it a must see for all who come to Whistler. It has a fantastic permanent collection and is always pushing the boundaries on their temporary exhibits. One of my favourite galleries anywhere.

Lovely collection.

Something for every taste. Even the kids liked the collection. It was great to see them standing and considering the pieces, even more because the Audain shows the incredible local BC talent. Lots of Emily Carr. Beau Dick and his fantastic masks and the other First Nations artifacts.

Highly recommended

The Emily Carr and E.J. Hughes exhibits were stellar, and it was one of the largest and best selected exhibits of First Nations masks I have seen. A wonderful afternoon, even through the temporary exhibition was being renewed for a mid November opening.

My wife went alone on her to visit the Audain. She enjoyed the Emily Carr exhibit, the First Nations Art and special exhibit. The museum was quiet and enjoyable.

Fantastic Little Art Museum!

Beautiful art museum, with a wonderful collection of Emily Carr and First Nations Art. I really enjoyed my visit. Also has a great gift shop full of BC artisans wares(i.e. jewellery, pottery, glass, soap...). Perfect for a rainy day or to beat the heat on a summer day.

Excellent Exhibition

Big city quality in a small town. This gem of a museum has some of the best Emily Carr and other Canadian artists works available all in one place. The building is beautiful. The First Nations exhibit is very well done. A definite must see when visiting Whistler.

Highlight of our trip
Sep. 2020 • Couples
We arrived in Whistler Sunday afternoon and rushed here first thing, as it is closed Mon - Wed at this time of year. I am particularly interested in masks, and the exhibit starts with 40 - 50 coastal BC First Nations masks from the 1800s. Only down side was low lighting made reading some labels a bit of a struggle, but the masks themselves were lit well enough and there was a huge variety of types. I mouthed a quiet “wow” at almost every one. Next comprehensive Emily Carr, then EJ Hughes, then a little from many local luminaries. Lots of modern, wish I’d taken a photo of the totem pole made of golf bags. Extensive and interesting international photo exhibit. We only had 90 minutes and I would say that was barely enough time for a proper but not lingering look. Had a quick second look at the masks, a few minutes in the gorgeous gift shop, delighted to get an EJ Hughes print for $15 packed flat in stiff cardboard without having to ask. A thrilling experience overall.

Exceptional Canadian art experience
Sep. 2020 • Family
Nothing says Canadian art like Emily Carr, First Nation Art and the group of 7. Our experience was wonderful. Covid measures were in place making it very safe and clean and open. The building itself is incredible, and easy to access. We will definitely return.
