David and his family were great hosts and exhibited a profound love and respect for the dogs. The dogs were obviously very responsive to the attention and were eager to work and enjoy the experience with us. We were compelled to get our “Ididamile” tee shirts when back in Churchill. Great experience and we highly recommend it! Thanks!!!

We had absolutely amazing time with Dave (the alpha dog ;) ) and his crew! It was very interesting to learn about the dogs and their life from their amazing and caring owners! Thanks for a lovely time and for taking such good care of us and allowing us the privilege to interact with the dogs! Elena

Our Nat Hab tour took us to this amazing place. Dave and his son were friendly and loved telling their family’s history. Got to do a short ride to understand how his amazing dogs work. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Kids would love it!

Going through the woods while dog sledding and snow was coming down was exceptional. The care the owners have for their dog’s shows. They do not seem to be in it for profit, but to carry on the traditions of their family. The entire staff was very friendly and answered all the questions thrown at them before, during and after they took us around.

We just finished a morning visit to the Team Wapusk international dog sledding station about 15 minutes south of Churchill. Dave, Wyatt, Danielle and their 20 or 30 or more dogs, who greeted us at our arrival with great fanfare and joyous howls.
It was a pleasant 20°C when we arrived, not perfect dog sledding weather but just cool enough to allow us to experience the thrill of being pulled by 10 very excited sled dogs. It was amazing how enthusiastic the dogs were for their work and the speed they achieved over the mike and a half circuit.
Dave Daley (AKA Big Dog) loves his dogs and it's infectious! He entertained us with dog lore, dog facts, dog psychology, dog cuisine, doggie personality profiles, canine politics in addition to the dog cart ride through the forest.
When you are in Churchill do a tour with Wapusk.

Dave, the Metis owner of this dog-sledding experience, is one hell of a character. He will regale you with stories of a dog's life in Churchill. His experiences of winning races are remarkable and his way with his dogs is reminiscent of the Dog Whisperer. The dog sledding was more show than action, as our group was just too big and of advanced years. The dogs are well-loved, looked after and are always raring and yelping to run.

A really fun and informative visit with Dave Daley and his team of dogs.
Dave was extremely informative and friendly and gave us a history of his life and experiences in Churchill and, of course, on the dogs.
We then got taken on a short cart around the area given it was the end of summer and therefore no snow or ice. It would be great to have a longer experience and perhaps a more interactive one but it was nonetheless a very enjoyable experience with some beautiful dogs.

We visited Wapusk and were on their dog sledge camp as an important part of our weather documentary for Danish TV. Dave, Waytt and their friendly colleagues were absolutely wonderful and did their utmost to help us. The dogs were beautiful lovely and charming. And the scenery was stunning. I would recommend Wapusk for either business or private adventures. Top worth and professional.

We took the dog sledding offered by Wapusk. Frankly speaking - a bit disappointing & not value for money. The sledding itself lasts about 15 minutes only, and its in a group. You dont drive the cart, the owner does. I tend to compare it with the same experience I had in Svalbard, Norway. There, we were given basic training on how to drive the sled & did the driving by ourselves. Lasted 45 minutes or so. The experience here is not interactive at all. However, the husskies here are all extremely friendly and love being petted.

Hello, We are sorry you feel this way, if you did your research prior to booking your experience here in Churchill, Manitoba Canada you would know that at our kennel we take great care in our sled dogs and letting tourists take our dogs for a solo run is not what we provide in our experience. It’s unfair that you assume all dog kennels are the same in every country and culture, this is simply not true. It’s not only dangerous for our beloved dogs but also dangerous for you. I encourage you to research other experiences prior to booking to see if it reaches your expectations so you don’t leave disappointed and give poor reviews.

We visited Churchill in early August 2019. We were independent travellers (ie: didn't go with a tour group) and stumbled upon Wapusk Adventures during our trip planning. We are so glad that we made this a part of our trip. We are all dog lovers and since we went in August we were able to spend a lot of time with the dogs in the yard. We did the 1 mile dog carting experience, but really just spending time with the dogs and hearing Dave's stories was the best part. You can tell that Dave loves his dogs very much. At the time there was also a litter of puppies, which we got to hold and spend time with. My 12 year old son found the time with the dogs to be his highlight of the whole trip. Dave is very personable and friendly and loves to talk about his dogs and his adventures with them. I know there are other dog related groups in Churchill, but we found Wapusk to be an absolute highlight.
