    Large food court.
The food options were amazing. I was very disappointed in the shopping. It was very touristy and lacked depth and high end boutiques. There were few options for really good native and local arts and crafts. But it was like the largest food court ever! And each looked delicious and well prepared.

Very nice, food a bit on the pricy side.
Let's start with the good things about this place. It is only 10 minutes away from downtown (as in Main & Portage). One block from the iconic Canadian Museum of Human Rights. The Place is maintained clean by a team of devoted staff (thank you!). All businesses are local businesses. You will not find there the chains you usually find in mini malls of the same size. The place is safe. Very crowded in the weekend but not so much on week days. There is a large plaza with outdoor seatings by the river. Weather permitting you can take your foods and drinks outside. The crowd seems to be mainly locals. Young couples and middle age residents. Not too many teens. And this is probably due to the prices they charge you for food. Comparable to what you would find in larger city like Toronto or Montreal. We had 2 burgers from NuBurger. $40. Another day we had two chicken quesadillas from a Mexican place there. Again , another $40. So I would say. Visit. Enjoy. But budget wisely.

Nice hub for quick-ish dining and getting the traveler oriented while visiting Winnepeg
This is a big food court with shops upstairs that we went to twice on our recent trip to Winnepeg. It has a lovely vibe to it, and is very capably organized and staffed. Like a lot of food court type environments, the food is going to vary depending on whether you make the right choices. Across our multiple visits when in Winnepeg, we had a stellar cinnamon bun and a very good pizza, a perfectly fine burger, and some disappointing Carribean food. The bookshop upstairs is worth the venture upwards for.

    Plenty of choice
An upmarket food with local retail outlets. The grub is reasonably priced and there’s enough choice to keep everyone happy. The retail units are alright, some local stores mixed in with the expected tourist enticing souvenir shops but you can certainly kill an hour or so browsing the fur lined hats and the handcrafted jewellery. Worth a visit!

Must Visit and unforgettable memories. Local restaurants
I think more that 10 locally owned restaurants to dine and outdoor bar in located in forks market. View in night is amazing by the bank of Red River. Going there will friends and family can give you awesome memories. Totally worth spending couple hours here. 🎉🎉

    Unique, and plenty of variety.
Visited: 28/05/2023 We loved this quirky alternative market in Winnipeg. There are lots of craft and handmade stalls, the place smells delicious from all the food markets. You find something new behind every corner. It's perfect if everyone in your party fancies something different to eat, plenty of variety in food and drink. A nice little space outside for relaxing by the river with lounge chairs and benches. You also have a platform to get a view of Winnipeg from near the top which is nice too. Lovely unique marketplace with plenty to offer day or night.

    A gem
Luckily this was only walking distance from our hotel....as we went 3 straight nights. Great selection of food....pizza, Mexican tacos....and fish and chips. Upon roaming around some more we found an ice cream place, a doughnut space, a great wine store and a candy place. You had to do a bit of searching for a table but they are available

    Fantastic!
I'm so glad I came across The Forks Market when looking for shopping in Winnipeg. The food and shops are diverse and exceptional. It was my family's first time in Canada and most of us (2adults, 5kids) found goods uniquely made by local artisans. I would highly recommend this stop to anyone visiting Winnipeg!

Nice urban market and food hall
The Forks is a fairly typical urban market or foodhall of the kind you see at redevelopment areas in other cities. The selection of food vendors is pretty decent, although the options for a drink are a little limited. I would have liked a few more craft eateries and less fast-food. There's a craft beer and wine bar at the center of the food court. Prices are reasonable. All things considered, this is a great place to spend a Saturday in Winnipeg's downtown.

I used to love the Forks.
It was a nice place to go and have lunch or look for unique presents when a birthday was drawing near.
It all started when Skinners tenure was revoked and they were sent packing. There went a key place for parents of children who were fussy eaters. Mind you WeinerPeg took over eventually.
Then they got rid of Dragon House on the second floor, I spoke with the woman who ran the shop and she was told that they gave her hardly any notice and now she has to run kiosks to make ends meet.
After then, all the free parking lots were changed over into $3.00 an hour lots which is a major discouragement for poorer people who used to see the Forks as a cheap place to go to for recreation.
I personally won't go to the Forks unless I have to now because it's just upsetting that the Forks has become more of a place for the rich to shop for their bougie wines and over priced clothes and knickknacks, as well as knowing that the nice lady who ran the oriental store was given the boot.
Additionally, the play park behind the Inn at the Forks got a "face lift" if you could call it that by having it substantially downgraded and having very dull, dark, and muted colours.
I used to like the Forks, but now it's a shell of what it used to be.
It's upsetting because while there's places in the area that I want to support, Spaghetti Factory, MTYP, and the Rail Museum, I have to park at the Forks and support the place that no longer means something to me.

We drove in from Ontario with family and friends and visited the Forks Market and we were shocked! What has happened to the once wonderful and beautiful Forks Market building, my goodness. We discovered to our surprise that all the great restaurants like Sydney’s Restaurant, Beachcombers Restaurant, Passeros and all the great and unique retail shops that were once there in the Forks Market building are now all gone, Wow! We walked around and took in the atmosphere and sadly, absolutely very little was seen to be left of value, quality, or interest at the Forks Market building and Forks patio outside was pretty much a deserted area. The shopping experience was poor and products not of local or Manitoba made. Over the top amounts of liquor and drinking all through out the building was available (everywhere) and occurring here and there and in corners of the Forks Market, in essence we felt this presentation was debasing the whole experience with alcohol, which was the obvious game in town here, expensive fantasy island swill and booze. The management of the Forks Market building has clearly run this building into the ground and destroyed a once beautiful and fun family experience and quality tourist destination in Winnipeg. We tried a few drinks at the Commons, and well it was way overpriced with little or no service of quality, the seating areas were uncomfortable, hard wood benches, iron chairs and industrial iron drilled into the cement floors, people milling around in a smelly odour packed smoky and greasy atmosphere in the commons centre food court full of leftover plates of food, empty booze glasses and garbage stacked up on bins and tables, Yuck! A Fantasy Island Disaster. Not Recommended!

Visited the Forks Market and we were disappointed in the experience. The Food Court is nothing more than a common hall eatery (nothing special at all) with expensive prices and in an unsafe, unhealthy environment. We tried the Red Ember classic with tomato sauce, berkshire pepperoni, cooked mushrooms and mozzarella, well it was dry and tasted like cardboard, not a classic at all and way over priced. Our friends ordered at Nuburger, a number of bugers with shang, slaw, goats cheese, mushrooms and with chili mayo and they well gaged on the grease on the burger and the chili mayo was obviously old and cold, as well way over priced food in a maul food hall space, wood bench seats that are very hideous, not to mention all the sweaty people milling around in an over packed drinking circus which includes the whole building, upstairs and downstairs and in the corners. The Commons craft beers we tried at the huge bar were warm, poor service at counters and the wine kioski selections was dated and priced through the roof. Felt like a mess hall in a Miners Camp Food Tent more than a Food Court Hall in fact, it was a maul experience. The atmosphere felt unsafe and the vib was unhealthy, concerning and strange. Garbage was everywhere and the building is clearly poorly run, no security or maintenance was seen anywhere, typical. Frankly the Forks Market building has become a tourist trap with limited service and with no proper restaurants or shops of quality. Disappointing experience, poorly managed. Time visit indeed a Zero.

The family came in and spent an afternoon at the Forks Market, not impressed, nothing but a food court maul, an uncomfortable eating area, bad air circulations, smoke from grills, and an overall poor shopping experience, lots of knockoff stuff at the Fake Forks Trading Company upstairs, nothing left and to much-overpriced maul garbage. Really too bad, drunks everywhere. The building seems to be falling apart, and not well kept, engineering structural failures are obvious. Cannot Recommend this place. Disappointing.

Just in from the States, came to our once favorite place and we could not believe our eyes. What Has Happened Here at this once terrific Forks Market! Vibes were poor, rather lizard like, predacious everywhere in the Forks Market Building, the unwashed executive hordes (government appointments no doubt that run this place) have taken over and pretty much destroyed the once beautiful original concept of the Forks Market that we all loved and participated therein with family and friends. We tried the food, fries, a vegi and a meat dish with friends and some expensive beers in the centre main floor food, alcohol mess hall one can call it and well have to say yuck. The chow was expensive, greasy, not fresh, and over cooked, the beer was not cold and basically stale with no service. We sat and watched the wildlife for awhile, strange characters in this building and the silly security marching around and causing concern. After awhile we when up stairs and we noticed there was nothing left in shopping experience in this Forks Market building, the knockoffs trade is all over here and in that Forks Trading centre place (bad vibs there, creepy people), unauthentic maul junk is the trade here now, made in Manitoba, nope not at all! Disappointing. Ridiculous concepts abound and what a waste of good space everywhere, drinking is all over the Market Building, not cool and not safe! We eventually left the building with surprise, concern thinking who is running this place and well disappointment, obviously abhorrent management, the buck stops at the top, well you know government appointments, never works and the incompetence was everywhere, so obvious. What a shame! After a few hours of shock and exploration we walk outside into the fresh air and by the river and the Johnston Terminal and Inn at the Forks, which was nice and quality in experience. There it Is.

The Forks Market had some nice dining options but it is very busy and the lines are long. The shopping experience I did not think was anything special. The river walk I found was disappointing. The river was very dirty during the time I was there and there were multiple homeless tents along the river walkway. I had this built up in my mind as a beautiful walk along the river which it was not. I also googled the parking and for a first time solo traveler it was a bit confusing. The lot closest to the market I read only allows 2 hour max parking, so I had no idea how long I would be there to see everything. Lots close by offer longer parking, but to go anywhere else in downtown Winnipeg you have to pay to park at each place...can get very expensive....I ended up doing A LOT of walking near where I parked since I paid for all day and there wasn't much else around except the market.

Lots of little eclectic shops with great niche eateries. One tip: Apparently Discover Card had a rate increase for merchants in Canada about a year ago and and I found many merchants throughout Winnipeg no longer accept it - and I had no alternate card. I went to a mall and withdrew cash and used that throughout the trip.

The first floor of the Forks market is all food stalls, and there is a good variety, including Sri Lankan, Mexican, Caribbean, and North American. There are also some great cocktails to be had, as well as a coffee shop and a counter with beer and wine choices. The bathrooms are surprisingly clean. :-) You can take your food and drinks out to the patio and get a view of the river. There is retail on the second floor, but it's typical souvenir items. There is a parking garage very close to the market.
