I was absolutely blown out of the water by this experience!!! Where to start! The Trolley of Terror is a Winnipeg haunted tour stopping at several locations along the way. Our tour guide was absolutely fantastic and his stories really draw in the crowd and create superb engagement. He was extremely knowledgeable and told exciting stories of some of the morbid and beyond death tales of Winnipeg’s history.
We visited three locations to tour, but also had many extra stops along the way to hear more stories of some of Winnipeg’s most historical and haunted buildings. The three locations we stopped at to go inside were filled with ghostly true stories, and provided plenty of opportunity to take photos and experience the tales for yourself.
The trolley itself is beautifully preserved and is a glorious homage to Winnipeg’s fascinating past, and the experience alone to ride the trolley was totally awesome.
I understand they offer numerous different tours of the city and I will 100% be attending some more as well as suggesting all my family and friends book some trips as well!!
In summary. Amazing tour. Engaging host. Knowledgeable with stories and experienced with ability to engage passengers. Ample time to experience the destinations. And a wicked awesome ride on the trolley sum up to a 10/10 would recommend!!! If you want to experience Winnipeg’s amazing history, do it with Winnipeg Trolley Company!

We did the ale and distillery tour on the evening of October 29, 2021. Ben and Mel took great care of us. Their was a lot of excellent information and beer trivia. We made stops at Little Brown Jug, Capital K Distillery and the Hargrave Food Market at True North Square for beverages from Lake of the Woods Brewery. It was a great evening and I highly recommend this tour.

Met up in front of the Hotel Fort Gary, a convenient location. We chatted with our friendly bus driver while waiting for everyone to get there. Our tour guide gave us a quick run down on what where we would be going. He was very entertaining and informative. On the way to different locations around the city he has many tales to tell. We all found it extremely interesting and entertaining. 1 lady photographed an orb when taking a selfie. Watched her take the picture and then look at it. No fakes. And I would say this is a great event for families and groups of friends to do.

Gary, the tour guide was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and funny. It was 2 hours long and very enjoyable. Even with having lived in Winnipeg all my life I found out things that I never knew. My husband cannot walk very far and at one point we had to get off the trolley. Gary was kind enough to show him pictures on his laptop so my husband got to see what we saw. Very nice. The only thing that was missing was that you do not get a pamphlet to take home with you for memories and maybe a pillow to sit on (seats are hard but it is an old trolley). At first it was a bit hard to hear him as he had the fan going but once he lowered the fan it was better. It was a hot day. Otherwise, it was perfect.

Just before Halloween 2021, we did the "Trolley of Terror" tour. What an excellent evening we had!! Not only were the locations amazing to visit, but the history and the stories were great. We ended the evening off with drinks in the Hotel Fort Garry lounge sharing our varied experiences. We were well entertained and strongly encourage you to have a fun night out with this wonderful company!

On a visit by friends from South Africa, I booked this trip as a way to have them experience Winnipeg.
Well, I must say, that I also gained insight into Winnipeg (and I live here!!).
Yes, it was well worth the time (90 minutes) and the money ($40/adult) to get a full oversight of the city.
The "bus" is completely enclosed off from the elements, is air conditioned, and provides a great sight light due to the immense windows.
The commentary is very informative, giving many facts that even as a resident i did not know so of the information provided.
"Who knew?" is the question stated very often.
Yes, you cannot go wrong taking this tour. Will highly recommend this to anyone and everyone (residents and visitors alike!!!)

We usually take bus/trolley tours when visiting other cities. This is one of the better ones. Travel route takes you all around the city from the downtown core, to the legislative grounds to Assiniboine Park.
Tour guide and driver were incredibly friendly and appeared to really enjoy their jobs. We learned a lot about the city from how it had been the 3rd largest Canadian city but lost that distinction to Vancouver after the building of the Panama Canal, to seeing the childhood home of Neil Young and hearing stories about Bob Dylan and Homer Simpson visiting the city.
Tour takes you thru some of the most manicured and elegant neighborhoods I never even knew existed in Winnipeg. They supply you with a route map so if you have a car, you can return to certain locations later at your leisure. We did.
One thing to know is that on weekdays, only 1 tour runs a day at 10:30 am. Weekends has 2 tours. I had to get up early and get in line for the trolley (at the Forks marketplace) 45 minutes early to guarantee a spot for my wife, son and me. People who arrived about 20 minutes early were told that the bus was already full and to try back again tomorrow. I don't know why they only have one tour a day since they obviously had crowds to warrant several tours a day (at least during the summer months). I guess you can reserve a spot on line thru their website but I wanted to know the weather for the day before deciding to take a tour.
As others have mentioned, one thing I think would improve the tour even more is to have a couple stops for people to get out and take a few pictures. Maybe a stop at Assiniboine Park near the sculpture/rose garden would be a good location for one stop.
Overall, family enjoyed the tour and learned a lot about the city. Ticket prices were fair too.

When visiting a city for the first time, we often do one of these "introductory" tours to get our bearings, learn a bit about the city, and decide where we might want to spend more time. We have done these in numerous cities all over the world, and this tour in Winnipeg is definitely one of the best.
First, the city is much more interesting than we had imagined. The "trolley" is comfortable, and our guide (Evan?) was very knowledgeable, engaged, humorous and thoughtful all in equal measure.
Highly recommended.

Our group of 10 thoroughly enjoyed our 90 minute tour with the Winnipeg Trolley Company.
We enjoyed our tour that left at 10:00 am from the Forks on a beautiful, sunny Saturday at the end of May. At $27.85 per adult we felt it was a great price.
Our driver was great and our guide very informative. The tour hits all the highlights of Winnipeg, including St. Boniface, Osborne Village, the Parliament Buildings, Assiniboine Park, The Exchange District and more. See where Neil Young and Burton Cummings got their start & where Teemu Selanne played street hockey with the local kids.
Although I was born & raised in Winnipeg (left in 1997), I thought the tour was excellent and I found out things about Winnipeg I never knew so even if your a local, make sure you taken in this tourist attraction.
The seats are for 2 & are made of wooden slats but there are cushions to sit on. With the air conditioning on, it was very comfortable for our tour. The windows were spotless, which allowed us to take many photos.
Highly recommend this adventure with Winnipeg Trolley Company!

How is this tour in the winter? Thinking of going in mid February.
Written February 13, 2019
I have not used the Trolley during the winter. If it is running it would probably be fine. My only concern would be with areas of Assinaboine park that were part of the tour. They would be under snow. check with the company about there route.

Can you bring strollers onto the trolley?
Written August 8, 2018
I am pretty sure that the trolley is too narrow.
