Heard a lot about how much goes on in this area in summer but in winter, I saw nothing happening although I walked by quite a few times (on week ends). Architecture of buildings in the area is very interesting though, thus the reason I gave it 3 stars.

Its a bit of stretch to say this is a great place to kick back and enjoy the downtown during the winter months, but with spring upon us the magic opens up. A great spot to people watch, grab some food from the many options in the area and sit outside and enjoy. Even better in the summer when there... More

This is one of my favorite areas of Winnipeg. So many cool things to see and great architecture. The problem is it feels dead 90% of the time. The city needs to do a better job utilizing this space, especially during the winter months. This could be a beautifully lit winter wonderland for skating and small pop-up shops. instead it's... Whether it's afternoon concerts, opening weekend of Jazz Fest, The Fringe Festival, or the Makers Market! you will always find something going on here during the summer. It's a great meeting place if you want to catch up with a few friends and explore all the beautiful shops in the area

I not only work in this area but also enjoy participating in festivals and the many different events held at "The Cube". It's a fun place to gather with a lot of different people. From the Fringe Festival to the many other events that are planned, it's a fun place to gather and kick back!!!

Long a little-known local secret and hang-out for artists and counterculture bars, the Old Market Square area of Downtown Winnipeg is the largest collection of existing turn of the century commercial buildings in North America. Spanning as it does many square blocks and marking its uniqueness in architecture and atmosphere with numerous original and renovated buildings, Old Market Square is... More

February in Winnipeg is not for the faint of heart. The old market square area is a nice place to walk through - several cool historic sites with plaques, but too cold to really enjoy at this time of year.

Quaint buildings that double in the movies for Chicago of the 1920s, quaint shops, quirky galleries, interesting restaurants and a fabulous open air stage combine to make this the heartbeat of the city's outdoor culture. You can't really miss it! There are a ton of good reasons to visit, not least of which ore the great restaurant options. Head there... More

Some of the most interesting restuarants and shops in Winnipeg. In the summer the Fringe is a must and the entertainment in the Square is amazing. It is a must to go if you come into the city.

Lots of restaurants, cafes and bars of all types and all pretty good year round. Free outdoor summertime entertainment on the weekends. Indoor concerts at the Burten Cummings theatre lead into a late night meal or drink. It's great.
