We loved our day. Definitely plan to stay as long as you can , have lunch, enjoy a glass of cava in the restaurant, eat a delicious meal …. The “ritual” in the sauna with essential oils, the salt scrubs in the steam room and all the options of cold , warm or hot pools made us feel pampered and relaxed.

Wonderful spa, love the saunas and ice bath, everything seems fairly clean. One thing I must say, is the clapping of cheeks being performed in the scented saunas, exquisite. I never would have thought that such an establishment would allow patrons the pleasure of getting their freak, on while bathing in the sweet smell of citrus and eucalyptus. Absolutely marvellous. 10/10, or in this case 5/5.

Went to Thermia for the first time after hearing good reviews from several friends. I would probably go back but my expectation would be lowered considerably. First it was raining which was not a problem for us, what was an issue was the horrible parking lot, it was difficult to find a parking spot that wasn’t surrounded by water so we ended up with soaking feet just trying to leave our car. They have plenty of hooks around the spa to hang your robe but very few have any sort of over hang so our robes were soaking wet from the rain not very comfortable after getting out of the pool in the cold air. When we arrived they asked if we had been there before and I said this was our first time. Not having been there before we had no idea what they all offered nor did they offer any instruction as to what to even do first or what the process was so we just kind of stood around at first looking like fools and had to wing it. I think they should have some sort of orientation, instruction or at least a pamphlet for newbies. They are not enough change rooms to accommodate the number of women in the change room. Plenty of showers but only two change room stalls which leaves very few dry places to change. The hot tub was pushing out cool water from the jets which was not very comforting on the arthritis in my back. I don’t know if that is normal but I’ve never felt cool water coming from hot tub jets before. Seemed odd! We liked the aromatherapy steam sauna and the hot tub was roomy but there were entirely too many chatty women in the whisper only area in the hot tub. This was very rude, there are literally signs everywhere telling you to whisper And be respectful but there were entirely too many people ignoring this. We didn’t pay $155 for my husband and I to go so we could listen to loud people chatter. Go for coffee or go to a public pool don’t go to a very expensive spa where people are going to decompress. The staff could have been a little more observant and asked people to quiet down. There are definitely areas that need improving, my husband will not go again and I’m not sure at this point.

My friend I was going with tried to book the same time from our separate homes as we were each paying for our own but we got entry times 15 minutes apart. I called and after a long time on hold I finally got someone on the phone to help me. I explained the situation and was told that if we are booking a group we have to call in we can't do it on line. My friend had been before many times but this was my first time. The parking lot sucks, pot holes and limited parking for the number of people that could be there. When we walked in no one greeted us so I am glad my friend knew what she was doing. No one asked if we had been before nor did they say where we had to go or what to do so again I was glad I had my friend with me. The lockers were nice and big but the locker area was a little crowded. We had a nice clean robe and towel in our locker with a huge bin full of clean and dry replacements by when needed them. I am glad that my friend told me about the ritual and the gong as I got to enjoy that event. The hot tub was hot, the pool was a nice temperature and the cold pool was very cold. My friend showed me the salt rub but there was no hot or warm water to rinse it off those showers were ice cold. I really enjoyed relaxing on the stone bed it was nice the perfect temperature, the chairs/loungers on the other side of the building were comfortable but not warm. When it started raining we were going to go and sit by the fire but then we saw there was no roof so we thought we might as well be in the hot tub instead of the cold rain with wet robes. I found the price to be very high. I will go back but just not as often as I would like to. I would like to take my boyfriend with me but he can't take the heat so it would be an expensive day in the pool for him. I have no complaints about staff as I didn't interact with any, everything seemed clean and the showers in the change rooms were nice and hot. I didn't use it but it was nice that there was a blow dryer there also.

Hello Bonnie S,
Thank you for the review of your most recent visit. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the Rituals in our Finlandia Sauna, they are a wonderful event to attend as part of the thermal cycle.
Our online booking currently allows up to 4 people to make a reservation at the same time, however that reservation would all be paid for on the same credit card. Our reservations are still booked by time of arrival and if all the spots for a specific time are booked, your friend would have to pick the next option.
For your next visit with your boyfriend, I suggest the summertime. The thermal cycle can be done in different increments and the cold and temper pools although colder, are very enjoyable in the summer months.

See you again soon!

Went midday on a Sunday, so it was busy but not uncomfortable. First timer and after reading recent reviews I had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Plenty of different things to enjoy and easily spent 4 hours there. I agree with other reviews that there are areas that could be improved. Some of the chairs in the fire pit enclosure were broken and not usable. The pools seemed clean but some of the areas inside should have staff cleaning throughout the day. The tie on my robe had definitely seen better days but the robe itself and the one towel supplied were clean and fresh. There should be more information given at checkin for a first time visitor, they briefly mentioned the ritual and that was it, we even had to ask where the change rooms were. I noticed several guests asking other guests what they should do, what order was best and where things were. You basically had to wing it and figure things out for yourself. Highly recommend taking in at least one of the rituals, but plan on going 10 minutes before the gong on a busy day or you may miss out. I found the hot pool no different than the moderately heated pool however the cold plunge pool is icy! Overall I’d recommend Thermea and think the experience was well worth the price.

Hi Afpwell,
Thank you for your review and we are pleased to to hear you enjoyed your most recent visit. All your comments have been forwarded to our operations team for review.
To draw the maximum benefit from the thermotherapy treatment, we recommend completing the three steps in the following order and repeating them three times - Hot, Cold, Rest. More information on the thermal cycle and benefits can be found on our website.
We hope to see you again soon!

My niece booked online for the 3 of us. No issues. We arrived at 8:30, there were very few people there. Check in was great, staff were pleasant. All facilities were clean. It started getting busy by 11:00 so we went for a 2 hour lunch. It was very good although a tad pricey. Our server was phenomenal. Very knowledgeable with the wines and beers. She also made some great recommendations. After lunch, we sat by one of the fire pits relaxing before heading for another cycle We left at 5:00. The only complaint I do have is the lack of the whisper policy. It was very annoying in the afternoon, after having a relaxing morning, listening to groups of woman talking loud and laughing loud. Other than that, the 3 of us enjoyed our day and left feeling very relaxed

A spa that doesn’t answer their phones shouldn’t be providing messages and body care. Booking a spa experience should be part of the experience. Relaxing. The communication, chat, email, online booking, etc. is truly old school. Their website is exceedingly bulky and inefficient. Thermea needs to sort this out as I cannot be the only person experiencing this frustrating situation.

I would never go back! The facility was not well maintained, scum and filth floating in the hot tub. Some of the staff were incredibly rude, they were instructing us to be quiet several times, but we were not the ones talking loudly. I tried to book a massage with a specific therapist, they never got back to me. All in all its the worst spa i have ever been too. I'd never go back

I was disappointed and although I would return, I would lower my expectations. I had a massage and facial and both were amazing! Both the staff who did these also provided good customer service. Would give them 5 stars. Now the rest….the rest of the staff need to be ‘coached up or coached out’. There is no customer service at all. I walked in and was not greeted with any type of friendly or welcoming words. I almost ran out but had already paid for my spa visit, massage and facial so stayed. I would have expected an explanation of where everything is and the recommended process. I ate at the restaurant twice as I was there for 6hrs. The staff in the restaurant provided the basic service but once again were not friendly or welcoming. My lunch was good, had a rice noodle bowl. Later in the day, went back for a snack and had the Brie cheese. It was not good at all as it wasn’t even warm. What a waste of $22 dollars. Staff need not training to deal with unhappy customers. A customer was complaining she had received poor customer service by another staff member and it was clear that the staff member did not have the skills to deal with her. The manager should have stepped in because the whole place could hear or the waitress should have said, ‘I will get my manager. Overall, the customer service really lacks. Spent over $400 and left feeling very underwhelmed. Also, the wind was brutal and yes, I should have brought an ear warmer but you would think they would sell them??!

Do anyone know if Thermea has swimwear policy? I'm a male that wears European style swimwear. I wondering if I can wear a male g string or c thong in the pool area?

Are you allowed to have a glass of wine at any of the hot tubs? Or can you only enjoy a glass in the restaurant?
Hello,
Thank your question, unfortunately for the health of our guests we do not allow alcohol consumption in our pools. However you can relax on the deck with a glass of wine.
Hope that helps!

Yes, kids are allowed in common areas like lobby and restaurant but "...the baths, saunas and relaxation areas on the spa site are reserved for guests 16 and older..."
Quote is taken from their website. Hope this helps.

Sorry I took so long to answer. I have only gone on a Sunday. If you went for 9:00am on a weekday, you would likely only be sharing with 40-50 people. I think they allow only 100 people at a time.

Hi itsjen64, I was just wondering if you called the number provided and received any satisfaction for your bad experience? I would be pretty upset if I booked a couples massage and was put with another man in the adjoining room, bad mistake!

Sorry, I do not have an answer. I did not get a massage or other treatment that might be covered by insurance. We just made use of the spa.
After carefully reading the reviews......and understanding everyone's point of view.....would it be a good thing to suggest ear phones playing zen music...for those people who really don't want to listen to anyone at all...I come from a long line of people who love to talk and when they're doing something that they really love and they're really enjoying with their friends they want to smile and compare comments and talk about what they're experiencing and share it with other people....without ever intending to be rude or annoying it's natural for people to want to talk like it is for dogs to want to bark just one point of view from one citizen

Dear Sheralee5,
Thank you for your precious comments as they play an important role in our continued effort to improve our services.
We are concerned about this issue and we are currently thinking about different solutions to please all our guests.
We do think our best option would be to allow people to talk in specific areas, while silence would be mandatory in others. We now have a whispering policy on the site, so people can whisper (except in our saunas and relaxation areas, where silence will stay mandatory).
Also, our Hedonïa section is a social zone, so you are allowed to chat with friends, just like at the Restö and on the terrace.
Once again, thank you for your precious review,
Christophe Debeaumont,
General Manager
