I called around looking for a place to get my young daughter (10) and son (12) up on a horse for the first time while on a trip. This was one of the biggest items on my daughters bucket list and she had been begging for years. This place offered trail rides (hard to find in Ontario where I am from) and when Keith called me back (promptly) after I left a message, I was disappointed because he could only offer me a time the next day after we would have already been back on the road. He THEN called me back a few minutes after and offered to open his stables early and give my kids a private one hour lesson. My daughter was so excited. He had so much patience with them. They got to mount, learn the basics in how to control the horse and he even had them maneuvering around posts he brought into the ring. So much better than a trail ride, where they would have just sat and followed another horse. After he had them bring them to the barn, unsaddle them themselves (with a little guidance), and even had my son clean up the horse poop, showing them that taking care of a horse comes with responsibilities. Something that I think is beneficial, in their young lives. They brought the horses out to pasture after, and I am still hearing about it many days later. Thank you, thank you, thank you Keith!
