Such a great way to spend an afternoon! Staff was super friendly and truly passionate about science!💜
Highly recommend for a fun date, or fun afternoon of learning.
Jail cell was pretty cool too! And their fun outdoor playground.

As someone who lives close by, I've been there a few times and it's always been fun. O mater what age or ability or time of the year they can provide a vivid experience. Even when on section may be closed, they can make up for it, and theres alswy something new when I go.

This privately operated museum/science discovery center says it has about 150 different things for all to do and see. I found a toddlers section, a teen section and many things that both adults and teens can try and learn from. They also have a Jail museum in the basement, as the building was originally a jail. There is a fee but it is reasonable and I feel we got our moneys worth.

We travelled up this way to go tubing, but the weather had other plans in mind for us. So we visited Science East for the day instead. There was a 14 year old girl and an adult. We spent about 2 hours here and tried each of the games and experiments. Some worked better than others and were more interesting than others. We did learn some new things. This building is not accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, etc. It used to be an old jail, and there were historical papers around the building telling us more about that, in addition to artifacts. It is a smaller museum in comparison to most, but still something cool to do in Fredericton. Would recommend to someone who has never been, but wouldn't buy a season pass or necessarily return.

We (adults) spent more than 2 hours at Science East. We tried most of the activities and we did learn some new things and re-enforced knowledge of others things. The activities look like they have been well used and are tired with some pieces missing or not working. It really needs an update. The jail museum was very interesting. Don't miss it while you are there. I would recommend to visit with older children who can read and understand the concepts in the science part of building.

not a lot to do. My daughter basically bounced from room to room. Watched a live science demo, was interactive and fun. Some of the stuff is broken.
Used to be a jail. Men died here. There is a playground built over top of where they used to hang people.
Overall my daughter was entertained but needs more to do for the price you pay

It's not the worst, but it's definitly not like i used to remember it A lot of the stuff there is stuff you would find on pinterest. Its gone downhill. Not much is there anymore, or it looks cheap/poor quality. The younger workers don't want to interact with you as a guest. The only cool part is the jail in the basement, but even that isn't as cool as it once was.

I took my children to Science East in June 2018. At least 20% of the exhibits were broken or out of order. It was still nice to visit, but not worth the price for the amount of exhibits that were out of order.

Is the jail museum part of science East?

Yes, the building that Science East is housed in used to be the city jail so the jail museum is located in one part of the building where some cells have restored with story boards throughout the space. Visiting the museum is included in the entrance fee to Science East.
