Such a great place to visit! Me and my two children, 9 and 6 years old spent over two hours here today and they were interested and engaged the whole time! The man working was so kind and great with the kids and did a fantastic presentation on air and the kids even got to ride on a homemade hovercraft! So much to see and do, we will definitely visit again when back in Moncton!

Even if we were only passing through, the youngster at the reception desk was very helpful with a lot of information, especially about the interior architecture of the place. Which is amazing as they incorporated the portal of the original hundred years old City Hall in the existing modern structure. Regretfully, we had not enough time to stay much longer, however, I highly recommend the place.

Thanks for sharing your impressions! The former City Hall Façade featured in our entrance lobby is certainly a show stopper. We love sharing about its story!

So impressive! I learned so much about Moncton and I've been living here for quite a few years. The displays were very well done, staff friendly and helpful, and the museum itself quite easy to navigate. The amount of things to see and read in the heritage gallery was unexpected. I especially enjoyed learning about Moncton's shipbuilding history. The curation of the permanent collection was thoughtful and engaging.

Spent a couple hours here with my grandson. We both enjoyed ourselves with a variety of interactive displays. We learnt a bit about the history of Moncton as well. I was not impressed by the front desk person at the start however as we were overcharged and not directed to where the starting point was - not overly helpful that is fof sure.

Went with my 6 year old daughter and her friend. We had a great time exploring the whole museum. The staff was very friendly. The girls were very curious about all the old artifacts. Honestly, I don’t know who had more fun, the kids or me! Highly recommend.

Absolutely no mention of Acadians - evidently they were not involved in Moncton's history! At least all text and some staff are bilingual (it's the law in New Brunswick). Very disappointing for an Acadian from Moncton!!
Great interactive stuff for young kids but museum collection really sparse.

We apologize that this is the impression you had. We are a partner facility with the Musée Acadien as they are the authority on Acadian culture in our area. We encourage our visitors to continue learning about our region's history by visiting their facility as well. We also present special programming throughout the year highlighting acadian culture. Our next event, "Colloque de la société historique Acadienne" will be held May 31 at 2 p.m. and is free of charge. This presentation will explore the Acadians role in the development of Moncton's history. We hope to see you there!

I work in a daycare and for an outing we decided to bring the children to visit the museum. We were under the impression that the group rate was $3 per child with a daycare. When we got there we were told the the group rate only counted for groups of 10 children or more, we had 5. We were told that we either had to pay $7 a child or we were going to have to pay for 10 kids ($30). We only had $23 so $7 away from $30 and we were told that it didn't matter and we were not going to be able to visit the museum, our kids started crying and the only thing that the girls at the front desk said was to "have a good day". The museum is suppose to be a place for education and learning and to refuse the entry of children is very disappointing. We will never go to this museum again.

For those of you who have not discovered this gem, then make it a point to visit Place Resurgo Place. If you have kids, grandkids this is the place to take them. A very interactive center which captivates children and adults alike. Do you know what a wind tunnel does? Or what propulsion is in a rocket or how to fly a plane? There is also information regarding magnetic levitation as it relates to trains? Race cars, water wheels/vehicles which you build yourself and test in a water tank. How about how a submarine works? It's all here and more. For the adults, there's a history of Moncton at its beginning when it was a shipbuilding center. Then a transportation hub with the railway. This particular week-end, there was a Bricklin on display. A gull wing DeLorean type vehicle built in New Brunswick. As a adult with my grandkids, I was impressed. Seeing the grandkids interacting with the various activities, was for them a true learning experience by having fun in their own backyard.

This is a very small museum. However, it is one of the most interactive museums I've ever been in. There's a lot of stuff that the kids will love learning/playing with and the staff are super helpful in explaining how the different displays operate/work. We paid under $25 for a family of four and spent about an hour and a half. We visited mainly for the kids benefit and felt that it was worth the trip.

Lots of activities for kids (but also adults). The history is great too, you get to learn a lot about the Moncton area and also New Brunswick. I didn't know that there was so much history in this area. The interactive stuff is pretty cool too. My favourite part was the map that is upstairs, I learned so much using that virtual map.
