    A very pleasant experience
Very pleased with our first crossing on the Fundy Rose ferry between Digby and Saint John. For those with mobility issues, the elevator and escalator were a welcome find getting from the vehicle deck to the main deck. There are plenty of seating areas too, which we appreciated. Not everyone wanted to listen or see the family oriented movie in the theater area, so you could sit up front in front of large picture windows to watch the sea, and there are cozy conversation areas everywhere. There was a coffee shop on board, which was extremely popular, with those looking for coffee, lattes, etc. The main restaurant is called Tides and Valleys. The prices were fairly reasonable and the food was not bad. We have certainly had worse on land! There was live entertainment, a Cape Breton fiddler which was pleasant to listen to. We would not hesitate to take this ferry again. It sure beats the long drive. With the price of gas, it was nice to arrive in Saint John with a full tank of gas, and feeling refreshed from not having to drive 8 hours.
Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are delighted you enjoyed travelling with us. We hope to welcome you back onboard again soon.

A luxurious crossing into Nova Scotia.
This "ferry ride" felt more like a cruise! Seating is very comfortable. Musical entertainment was available, and you could watch one of 2 movies (one was Luca). Good food and drink options available. Not cheap, but a great way to travel and take your car on board as well!
Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are glad you enjoyed travelling with us. The Mid-Ship Cafe offers specialty teas and coffees to enjoy while you sail. We hope to welcome you back onboard again soon.

A nice trip across the Bay
It was too foggy for a great view, but enjoyed the ride. We've sailed on BC Ferries many times. The St John Bay Ferries experience was totally different. Much more spacious and comfortable seating and way fewer passengers. An interesting change from what we're used to. Service was very friendly.
Thank you for taking the time to post a review. It is fun to have folks onboard who are well travelled on ferries, they are a great way to travel in the Maritimes. We hope to welcome you back onboard again soon.

    Efficient Crossing
Efficient check-in, comfy boat with strong Wi-Fi. We crossed from Digby to St John. Surprised that there were no facilities at all at Digby. It was cold and misty outside, even colder inside with fierce aircon. The ship was showing its age, very rusty in parts, but as there’s apparently just one vessel going backwards and forwards on the route, not sure what they can do about it. The photos they put up on here must be years old. Some musical entertainment on the ship passed the time.
Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We have terminals in both Saint John, NB and Digby, NS. We are sorry to hear you were cold onboard, it is usually quite comfortable. Our vessels are very well maintained, you may have noticed that the saltwater and air has caused some discolouration, regular maintenance is to paint every year. The photos are recent and updated. We have music everyday in July and August. We also have Stonehammer Geo Park and Fundy UNESCO Biosphere onboard everyday in July and August, interpreting the Bay of Fundy (we have been doing this for 16years now and its a very popular program). We hope to welcome you back onboard again soon.

Really enjoyed using the ferry between Digby NS and Saint John NB...very comfortable trip . They have so many options for comfortable seating, or for standing on deck to enjoy the day outside). I ate on board ship for both trips and the food was pretty tasty and plentiful (Fries are excellent, burger was also good, my friends enjoyed their paninis. (Fish & chips? well, as a Maritimer, I know many a place with better, without intending offence). We enjoyed the broad range of movie options (family movies as well as general movies, and the very comfy movie chairs. The whole process of getting reservations and boarding was very simple.

Recently took my first trip on this ferry. It was very enjoyable! Staff was very professional, and they were very accommodating of my wife's disability. We noticed that the whole process of loading vehicles onto the ferry was run like a well oiled machine. Breakfast was decent. I would definitely go on this ferry again!

First time on the Digby-Saint John Ferry and it was quite pleasant. The 2 1/2 hour ride was over in no time as they have very comfortable seating & a couple of dining options.

Took the ferry from Digby to Saint John for a very pleasant ride. Washrooms were clean, cafeteria well stocked, there was lots of room to walk around, and the seating was comfortable. Tip: Reserve ahead of time and arrive on time as the crew moved the cars onto the ferry surprisingly quickly.

We went from Digby, NS to Saint John, NB in August of 2022. We were on the evening crossing on our motorcycles.

The BFL Terminal at Digby has very little, so come prepared. It has a few snack machines with some drinks and snacks but there isn't much around. Might be best to stock up for wait (at the terminal) and the crossing itself.

The staff were very friendly and answered all our questions. Specifically about whether or not we needed to tie down our motorcycles or not. They advised us that the boat staff would be better suited to give an answer. In our case, some late day swells yielded a recommendation to tie down the bikes.

The crossing itself was uneventful save for some Bay of Fundy rocking and rolling which should be expected on a ferry crossing.

A few things about the services on board.

Electronic payments can be hit or miss depending on the connectivity of the ship so you are advised to have cash (Canadian money). The credit card payment was working at the snack bar but not at the drinking bar. Not sure what that is about but that's what I can report.

We ordered dinner as it was a 5:30pm AT crossing, fish and chips for my wife and a "crunchy chicken burger" for me. Both were a miss. Do NOT get fish and chips on a ferry, at least this one. It is frozen and has been so for a very long time. That was our mistake. The same with the chicken burger. As we had just had a decent meal on the Maritime Atlantic ferry from Newfoundland to Nova Scotia we had unreal expectations for BFL. Better to eat before hand or bring your picnic style meal with you onboard.

We sat (for a few minutes) in the TV lounge wherein BFL played a movie one can only describe as "Hallmark finds God". A very preachy movie about how the local town (Christian) church was so welcoming to its new neighbours. There are plenty of G rated movies to choose from, this one was a little too "religious themed" for me.

We found a TV with the Toronto Blue Jays game playing on it and we enjoyed that for the duration of the trip.

A few notes for motorcyclists using the ferry service. Your passengers must walk on (not ride on with you). You can request tie straps for your bike, they will happily supply them (but won't tie it down for you). The deck is slippery as it is wet. And lastly check the weather at your destination as it is not likely the same from where you left. Sunny and warm in Digby, raining and cold in Saint John.

This is a good alternative than driving through Moncton and across the highways in NB and NS. It was on our bucket list to do and we've done it.

We might try the CAT from Yarmouth in the future as part of another trip in days to come.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We do apologize for the electronic payments, the WIFI can be spotty in the Bay of Fundy. We are sorry to hear that your meals were not good, we would certainly have refunded your money or replaced the meals for you if we had known. We love having motorcyclists onboard and we are glad you sailed with us. We hope to welcome you back onboard Fundy Rose and look forward to seeing onboard The CAT.

First time on this particular ferry. It is well organized. Cafe at one end of the ferry and restaurant with typical diner food at then other. They serve beer. Some outside space on both ends of the boat. Adult film on one side and kids on the other. Was full both ways.
