About
Reversing Falls Zip Line Tour. Saint John Adventures Inc. is pleased to offer Saint John’s only Zip Line Tour at Fallsview Park, right beside the World Famous Reversing Rapids. We offer amazing views of the Falls from our six towers and thrills galore on our five zip lines. The last leg of our lines, a dual line so you can race with your buddy to the finish, zips over water rushing along side of the Falls and landing on False Island. Come and watch the Bay of Fundy and St. John River struggle for supremacy. The powerful tides push the river backwards twice a day and the rushing St. John River gives back all it’s got twice a day.Seals, seagulls, cormorants and much more call this area home. Some very large striped bass are caught off the point and kayakers welcome the rushing white water.

We went on this adventure from our cruise ship in Sept. Too bad our day was extremely windy cold one. Most of us were not dressed appropriatly so we froze !! We all wished for a pair of gloves...so if you are thinking of going, bring some ! Even just to hang onto the ropes etc.
The operators were awesome ! Great crew !
The rapids reversed while up on the platforms and the views were great !

Visited on a cruise. Very comfortable and nice pick up from cruise terminal. GREAT staff (truly everyone). They were all energetic and friendly. They appreciated my business and didn't appear to just go through the motions. Fun location for the zip line and they truly take care of everything. All you need to do is listen, then sit back and enjoy the fun.

Everyone at Saint John Adventures was SUPER friendly, helpful and made us feel very safe during our Zip Lining. From the time we were picked up from our Cruise Ship until we returned everyone was great. Our guides were AWESOME! Love seeing the reversing rapids and racing on the last zip line. It was a GREAT day.

We really enjoyed our 5 zip lines with the view of the reversing rapids. The tides/rapids actually reversed while we were there and to get a great up close look at the whole thing was a once in a lifetime event for us. The guides were fun and professional ensuring that we were safe and enjoyed zipping from one platform to the next. Great view from each platform as well.

Our guides were very friendly and professional. They treated each person in the group with respect and they made everyone feel relax. The ten guys in our group were either experienced and new to zip lining. The guys helped each person feel comfortable and relaxed to enjoy their adventure. The tandem race lines at the end of the course was lots of fun. The view of the area are very scenic. Even thou we did not get their time to see the full reversing falls we did get to see the start of it and even that was very interesting.

We enjoyed 5 ziplines. They were built tower to tower but you get an excellent view of St. John's Bay and the Reversing Rapids. The incoming tide moves fish in and we saw many seals feasting. The finial tandem zip races you right across the water. Ryan and NeKayla we great guides and we appreciate the crew on the ground manning the brake ropes too!

Ryan and Josh were inspiring as this was my family's first time adventure with zip line. Josh told me I was going to be fine and Ryan really helped me face my fear of the unknown. Ryan and Josh were very thorough with the safety rules and our overall experience was wonderful! We will recommend this to our friends and family who travel to Canada!

Although we did not go on a St John Adventure Zipline, we did discover that the Fallsview Park where it is located is one of the most popular areas to get a view of the reversing rapids when they are at low and again at high tide. Buses filled with tourists pull up at this location and everyone climbs out to take their pictures. Worth coming to Fallsview Park, whether or not you are adventurous enough to go on a zipline. Who knows, maybe while you are enjoying the view of the rapids, you'll muster up the courage to do the zipline, as well.

I booked this excursion during our recent cruise and it was wonderful. While I had used harnesses and climbed before, my wife had a fear of heights and never attempted anything before, but she was willing. The staff definitely put her at ease, explaining the events, showing how her gear worked, and constantly motivating the group.
The course consists of five runs, four singe and then the last one where you race either the person you came with or another person. Even though it was windy and cool weather, everyone enjoyed the events because the guides explained what to expect and how to push off the pole to offset the wind. We paid for the helmet camera for my wife so we could record her experience, and that was a very reasonable price as well.
The guides were great, keeping everyone's spritis up as they checked and double-checked the rigs before every run, and while we were attached to the platforms awaiting our turn.
Although we didn't see the effect of the tidal change, the river was still rushing through beside us and it was a picturesque area. The pulp mill was also across from us and there was a slight smell, but the adventure, the river and the view certainly made up for any negatives.
My wife and I highly recommend this business!

We will be cruising Canada in June. Must we book through the cruise ship or can we book directly through you? Is your departure area close to the cruise terminal? Do you guarantee that we will be back before departure time?

how many steps to climbs to climb, is it straight up or a staircase?
ZipPatrol
Saint John, Canada3 contributions
We do have about sixty steps to the top of the first platform in a staircase like fashion, eight steps, platform, turn, eight steps, platform turn, etc. There are about 40 steps to descend on the last tower, again in a staircase fashion. There are also handrails on both sets of stairs.
How do you brake? I have been on 2 differnet zips and they did braking differently

Good question. Our participants are not responsible for braking on our course. We use a passive braking system consisting of a rope being attached to our zip cable and the guide on the ground controlling the speed of the rider.. On a couple of our lines the guide will use a resin brake block as the attachment to the line to help with slowing our riders down. I hope this helps,Thanks, Terry.
do you brake with your hands or do the guides catch you?

What's the minimum age for this? Can a 7 year old and a 5 year old do this? Is there a way to do tandem with small children? If not, can you recommend any other kid-friendly activities in Saint John and Halifax for a few days? TIA.
ZipPatrol
Saint John, Canada3 contributions
Hi Sangita, We do not have a age or height requirement, however, we do have a weight requirement of minimum 70lb and maximum 270lb, and, no, we do not tandem zip anyone. There is a nice zoo in town, Cherry Brook Zoo, that you children should enjoy while visiting Saint John. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on activities for children in Halifax, as I really am unsure of what Halifax has to offer.

How much did the zipline tour cost? We will be in the area but not with a cruise.

Hi There! Our pricing varies throughout the season so I cannot answer that definitively. If you visit our website, there is a reservation request section that you can email with the date that you are coming by and then we can respond with the best price of the day. Thanks!

Why did they not answer Elyssa C's question about booking through the cruise line or Saint John Adventures? I would like to know the same thing as I am planning a trip in October. Also, what time of day is best to see the reversing rapids moving strong?
ZipPatrol
Saint John, Canada3 contributions
Hi Sharon, Sorry, I did not see Elyssa C's question so I will answer you both now. We are not open in September and October other than on cruise ship days so, therefore, we do not take direct bookings. Guests traveling by cruise ship must book directly with the shore excursions team. Pricing is very reasonable for all of our cruise ship guests and we do offer transportation from the port to our site and then back again after your zipline experience is done.
The best time to see the reversing rapids moving strong is dependent on the day. The action occurs most at high and low tide which occur approximately every 6.5 hours so you would need to research approximate high and low tide times for the day that you are coming and then book a tour approximately one hour prior to either of these times. That would have you up on the towers overlooking the action in the rapids at peak time.
Hope this helps!
Is it cheaper to book through Saint John Adventures or through the cruise line? (Carnival)
