Really vibrant hall with individual offerings of food, souvenirs and all sorts of stuff you never knew you needed, like a glass hummingbird suncatcher from Pat’s Secret Garden ….
Includes a very resourceful visitor center too, so glad we made this our first stop.

GO THERE FOR THE FISH AND CHIPS!!!! :D :D :D Tasteful and affordable. The best of our whole trip.
Other than that, it was a nice but crowded ordinary market.

A fun time at the market with really neat vendors. It was easy to find, walkable and the vendors were varied. A glimpse into downtown life in St. John.

We came here to grab some lunch. This place felt like a tourist trap to me. Very crowded, not the greatest selection of food choices. The food we bought was just ok. It is adjacent to a mall, which looked nice but which we did not explore. Also, near a public park, with a few shady looking people there. Skippable.

A small indoor market in a historic building. Quite a few fresh fruit & vege vendors, numerous craft stalls, a tourist information outlet, and a couple of cafes.

This place was worth the visit and one of the experiences you have to have to enjoy St John. Plenty of food. Recommend Billy's but the sandwich shop was excellent as well. All and all great fun and is close to everything.

A bit disappointed. I was expecting more. Parking was hard to find. A very congested area with traffic and pedestrians

Do the (most) of the vendors take credit card as payment? Or do they require cash?

The smaller vendors prefer cash, but the majority will accept many payments forms. I used cash for the only purchase I made, as I cannot be sure of foreign transaction fees and/or conversion rate. Both Canada and the States are going to a cashless society. It's sad if you plan a visit there in the winter. Five Canadian couples own homes along my street, as wintertime residences. Three couple arrive next week, two wait until after Christmas. The grandchildren, you know?

Yes on getting transportation. It's not very far to walk either. we walked around all day from the port. Taxi's, bus and I believe there's horse drawn carriages.

Will the Market be open on Sunday, May 14?
SJCityMarket
Saint John, Canada
Unfortunately we do not open on Sunday's. Most of our vendor's are family run businesses and Sunday is the only day they have off.
I hope you can make it in another day. :)

I was thinking of moving to Saint John ,NB and I have my own Candle Business.
They are soy Wax Melts & Novelty Candles. Do you think that would be great for the Market.?
Thank You and look forward to hearing back from you. Also have a Happy Easter to everyone at the Farmers Market.

I think that would be a very interesting fit for the market. I would like to meet to discuss further but yes I think that would be a nice addition to the market.

Hi The City Market is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6 pm. On Saturday it is open 7:30 am to 5 pm. Yes it is wheel chair accessible but is very steep so would recommend starting at the Charlotte Street entrance and going down to Germain Street exit. You can also go in the elevator into Brunswick Square from the Germain Street exit

Are dogs allowed inside the market? We'll be visiting for a few days in August with our medium sized dog and am planning activities while we're there.

DO not think so except for service dogs.
