New Brunswick's Festival Place welcomes you to enjoy a taste of Market Square's finest as you shop, eat, play, and explore! Open from first coffee 'til last call, seven days a week, year round, we are proud to act as the cornerstone of Uptown Saint John! It's the perfect place to shop, dine, relax or play. We've saved the best for last, though: one of our finest features, the Boardwalk! Head out to our waterfront patio for some delicious food from our world-class chefs and a refreshing pint of Moosehead, and any other favourites to whet your whistle!

This is where most of our major events are, fireworks, shows on the boardwalk. Check it out in the summer and have a seat in one of the highly overpriced restaurants.

St-John Ale House is a great spot to eat and partake of a beer or two ! Food and service are great. Location on the harbour front is beautiful.

Lots going on in the summer time. Festivals, contests, live music. Not sure why a previous reviewer would think that locals attending a festivity would make it "unattractive". Is it the local people themselves? Be sure to sit on the patio and enjoy a meal....More

If you are in the area you should certainly stop in. There is artisan food and wares. However, it is just like any other indoor farmers market in any other small city anywhere. Not a destination in itself. If you spend more than 30 minutes...More

We were expecting a lot from this market from reading in guide books, it was disappointing. For a local I could see going to it, no as a tourist with other things to possibly see. Skip this place...

Adjoining is barbour's general store featured on this website but failing to appear when I try to review it. The complex contains the main city library, the New Brunswick Museum complete with an entire right whale skeleton, art gallery, interpretive centres, and requisite gift shop....More

We were staying at the nearby Hilton and had to catch the Digby Ferry at noon. The Hilton staff let us pack up our breakfast to go and we headed to Market Square to have coffee and yummy local pastries instead. It was a fun...More

Maybe it was just the time of year but a lot of local people were hanging around that made the area seem unattractive.

I had the most tasty, mouth watering steak sandwich here. The food is prepared fresh daily and they use all fresh ingredients, which I always look for. The fact that it's right across the road from the Hilton Hotel, where I stayed, was an added...More

Pictures of the market are often posted in the advertisements. The market is within easy walking distance of the cruise ship port. The market features about 4 aisles of goods- many of which are fruits/ veggies. Some aisles do feature work from local artists- paintings,...More
