New Brunswick's Festival Place welcomes you to enjoy a taste of Market Square's finest as you shop, eat, play, and explore! Open from first coffee 'til last call, seven days a week, year round, we are proud to act as the cornerstone of Uptown Saint John! It's the perfect place to shop, dine, relax or play. We've saved the best for last, though: one of our finest features, the Boardwalk! Head out to our waterfront patio for some delicious food from our world-class chefs and a refreshing pint of Moosehead, and any other favourites to whet your whistle!

Downtown St. John is pretty gritty and oddly dead on a Friday evening. Quite a few restaurants, but with blaring music, near the harbor. Not many shops were open, and there were quite a few marginal looking persons hanging out, several mildly intoxicated and yelling...More

I really enjoyed seeing local fish, bakery items, fruits, seaweed, and locally made crafts. We enjoyed talking to the vendors and sampling local products.

We enjoyed our time in Market Square, where we took in the Buskers on the boardwalk. Some shopping available, however they do close a bit early.

The name Market Square for this mall complex should be changed because it's deceptive. What conjures up in our minds when we think of "Market", is fresh grown veggies, and all the simplicities of local wares. It houses a Library, a Museum and a Spa....More

Not much is different than any other market, same type of vendors, same food and same souvenirs. But the surroundings are nice. I found a lot of beggars in this city which surprised me as I haven't seen any in the cities I have visited...More

A good variety of shops and restaurants as well as the museum. The old market is very interesting, a variety of food as well as handcrafted items.

We came in here via the indoor walkway system from the Hilton. It takes you from the lobby down through an underground tunnel into an open, 2 story atrium-style building. Ground floor there is a Tim Hortons location, very convenient if you are at the...More

We stopped at Market Square thinking it would be a good place to buy some fresh vegetables. Wrong, it is actually a shopping mall. The building itself is very nice and offers views of the Bay. There are a multitude of stores and a few...More

This was an indoor market that had a high percentage of locals involved. Most of the stock was way above average for tourist town stores.
