Nice waterfront stroll
Oct. 2019
The clay-colored walking path from Hilton Hotel to the Reversing Falls were purposely built pathway for walkers. It would take around 30 minutes for the smooth walk along the Harbour Passage while another 10 minutes slightly uphill to the Reversing Falls at the end. Remember that the total 40 minutes walk was one way only and you have to walk back. Or else you have to wait for taxi or shuttle return. Anyway the walk is highly recommended with relaxing atmosphere along.

Nice leisurely stroll along the waterfront with interesting historical data to read along the way. Mostly flat so not challenging for seniors.

Good walk
Sep. 2019 • Couples
My wife and I did this walk from a cruise ship docked in the harbour. Once we picked it up it was well sign posted and easy to follow. Generally it is fairly flat with a slight incline against the main road going up to the viewing area for the Reversing Rapids.

Great stroll
Oct. 2019 • Couples
We were staying in Uptown St John and wanted to see the Reversing Rapids. This lovely, paved path was a 40 minute waterfront stroll with history and nature lessons along the way.
Highly recommend

Reversing Rapids
Sep. 2019
My husband recently got home from Saint John in New Brunswick. We wanted to see the Reversing Rapids so after talking, at the visitor center, to one of the women who gave us the map, we decided to walk the Harbor Passage from town. She said it is a nice walk and we should fallow the "pink" Harbor Passage. First I must tell you my husband and I do a lot of walking so the distance of approximately three miles one way didn't bother us; however, what we weren't told is that the "pink" path ends and then you have to walk uphill along a very busy highway with cars racing by you. We thought that part of the walk was terrible and dangerous plus the distance walking along the highway is quite far. After we reached our destination, of course, we had to walk back. I would not recommend walking the Harbor Passage to see the Reversing Rapids. The Passage is a nice walk and the scenery of Saint John in the distance is pretty but when the "pink" path ends, turn around. If you want to see the Reversing Rapids, take a tour bus and stay safe!

Wander off the Harbor Passage beaten path (expand the boundaries!)
Sep. 2019
When finished walking the Harbor Passage path along the water, push the envelope a little and go on a search for the heart and soul of Saint John. Some of our favorite memories and impressions occurred when we veered off the path. And here we go.

Ask questions. We did. We learned that religion in general (and Anglican in particular) may have over-built back in the day and the inevitable result is that churches are closing and those beautiful white elephants are being put out to pasture (and up for sale). Others are teetering and tottering on the brink of an abyss. No bottom in sight.

Peeking in some houses of worship announced to us that Greek Orthodox was alive and had its (if somewhat small) following ... other larger churches were struggling to hold the line with dwindling congregations. As our visit occurred on a Sunday, religion (and the practice thereof) pretty much monopolized our focus.

The best part of our Harbor Passage was meandering outside the parameters and poking outside of a sterile bubble. Lesson to self: always color outside the lines.

Best way to get to Reversing Falls & Skywalk
Sep. 2019
Well-maintained pathway, flat and easy walk out to the Reversing Falls with good signage. Only negative is a break in the path where you have to join the road for a bit before the path resumes after passing some factories.

A beautiful way to get around the waterfront in Saint John
Aug. 2019
This is a peaceful way to get to see the uptown of Saint John. I started walking at Market square and continuing to the reversing falls. This was such a lovely walk. There is plenty to see along the waterfront. I was even able to watch a seal sunning itself on a rock. So exciting.
