Just inside the entrance to the Saint John City Market, the Butcher'sDaughter shop had 1 of the best assortment of pottery mugs, bowls and platters that we found in New Brunswick - and we had been looking. She carries items by a number of different artists and they are lovely, well made pieces, most are not touristy souvenir things. It was hard to choose what to get.

I found some pottery garlic scrubber dishes that will make great Christmas gifts. The store has a great selection of gifts but they are overpriced. Not a lot of variation in the merchandise offered. Customer service was excellent.

I would like to say as a merchant that includes taxes in my prices, that could answer your experience "overpriced" for each handmade item. In New Brunswick we are at 15% HST, that is lot higher than Alberta.
