We visited Parlee Beach on a weekday and it was not too crowded. People appeared to be socially distancing both on the beach itself or in the water, although few on the beach itself were wearing masks.

Long sandy beach with water that is truly warm in summer. Perfect beach for kids - shallow water and lots of space to build and play and gather sea creatures. Very shallow in close to shore and drops off gradually. Lifeguards onsite daily in summer. The beach suffered storm damage in Sept of 2019 so beach boardwalks were closed, but will be up and running again for sure. There is damage every winter but the staff does an amazing job of rebuilding. Do not miss this beautiful family space - and stay for sunset if you can - you will be amazed!…

I write a list of my top 10,000 step walks. Two are PEI and Niagara Falls. Imagine my excitement before hiking to Parlee Beach, visualizing an extraordinary experience of walking this famous beach. The beach is lovely and for the most part soft for walking. The food at the restaurant on the beach was amazing! Looks like a greasy spoon but the food was fresh and with (some) healthy ingredients. While some people were in the water, the advice I got from family in the area was ‘the beach is lovely, don’t go in the water’. Efforts to clean up the water may not have convinced the locals yet that it’s safe from contamination (e. coli). Would love to go back and hope the water gets a better reputation by then :)…
