Cute and quaint area of St. John's. This top 20 ranking has this duplicated as 10 and 17. If both were combined it would make this area higher in ranking. The local name for this area is Quidi Vidi Battery. Please combine the two.

Every tourist who travels to St Johns needs to take the time to walk through this community and relax. Or take a boat trip from the St. Johns Harbour front but make sure its High tide or you cant get the boats in the Quidi Vidi Gut.

Our McCarthy city tour took us to this beautiful spot where the fishermen were processing their daily cod catch. We saw some salt cod drying.

Viewed from Southside Road across the Narrows, the Battery provides a nice backdrop for photos, but don't try to drive to the Battery itself. Narrow, twisty and uninviting to visitors, Battery locals have essentially cut themselves off from auto traffic. Your only way to experience the Battery is to park your car a ways off and walk through.

Checked out town based on recommendations. Sort of quaint. Mostly just the brewery. Taken over by tourists. The older buildings are mostly in disrepair. There are other cute towns along the coast that are worth the drive but this is the closest to St. John's.

Quidi Vidi is a gorgeous little spot where you can simply sit and enjoy nature. There is a brewery and a couple of nice spots for dinner. We walked from our B+B on Military Road and it took about 45 minutes to get there. It is well worth the journey.

I had expected much more from what I had heard about Quidi Vidi, but it's still worth a visit. Quaint and unique and colourful. Missed the brewery tour but acquired a taste for the beer and it became our staple for the rest of our trip.
