We took the tour as part of our 30th anniversary trip to Newfoundland. The Captain and crew were absolutely fantastic making sure we were looked after. The highlight of the voyage was the “screeching in” ceremony making us proud honorary Newfoundlanders.

Iceberg Quest Ocean Tours is a must-do while in Twillingate! The staff and crew are professional, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and have a great sense of humor. Even when no icebergs are present in Twillingate, the captain and crew of Iceberg Quest know the area intimately, so they know where to go to showcase bird life, whales, natural wonders, and Twillingate itself. As a photographer, I found the Iceberg Quest tours to be exactly what I was looking for when it came to landscape, seascape, and bird photography. They were so great, I went back multiple times on different days, and I highly recommend you book one or more tours with them while in Twillingate!

What a great ride in Twillingate! It was cold, windy and some jolting swells, but so worth it! Captain Barry Rogers was clear on the safety instructions and let us know all points of interest. No icebergs, no whales - but seeing the beautiful Newfoundland coast was enough. Crew was also outstanding, walking around talking to everyone. Gillian got the party started with a couple of songs on the Ugly Stick. Thank you Iceberg Quest!

My wife and I and another couple did the Iceberg Quest boat tour on August 22. It was a sunny day about 18 C but the NE winds were cool so we wore toques! The boat was about 40-50 feet long so we did not feel the waves like a small boat would. The staff and Captain Barry were professional, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. At this time of year there were lot of sea birds and eagles but no whales and icebergs. We did not expect to see whales and icebergs but did enjoy viewing the coast line, Longisland Lighhouse, the hole in the wall, Spillars Cove and the Town of Twillingate from the water. I also got Screeched in and am now an honorary Newfoundlander! It was a great experience. I love Newfoundland and I will be back again soon!

As an older couple, we wanted to enjoy the vistas without a lot of physical exertion. The Iceberg Quest was an excellent option. The seating on the boat was comfortable, the staff were attentive to our needs. They made it clear that the season for viewing birds and marine mammals was past. Nevertheless, the ride out to Cape Spear and back was delightful. Our schedule that day was tight, so the boat crew called a taxi to the harbor to expedite our departure at the tour's end. The boat is in fine condition, very clean; the crew are enthusiastic and thoughtful. We had a wonderful time.

Outstanding tour. Saw many many dolphins, eagles, and had a great time. Crew is friendly and warm. Even did a screech in at the end for those who wanted to take part. Highly recommend!

Excellent tour. It was a short and convenient 5 minute walk from where our cruise ship docked. The crew was excellent and fun. We saw a lot of playful dolphins that followed the boat, a few puffins in the water, a few bald eagles, and unexpectedly for me, we saw some Mola Mola" or the 'Ocean Sunfish'. The Captain took us past the Cape Spear Lighthouse for a nice photo op of the old and new lighthouses and the easternmost land mass in North America. The tour concluded with a traditional Screech-In Ceremony for those that 'Come From Away' and wanted to become honorary Newfoundlanders. My wife and I highly recommend this tour while you visit beautiful St. John's. And no, I didn't '🎶 bury her in the ocean!' 😅 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Departed downtown St John's and went out to Cape Spear. Friendly employees, enjoyable live entertainment, good information presented by our tour host. Views of St John's from the harbour were spectacular. Saw a couple of puffins, no whales or icebergs (better to do that further north). Wear layers, it can get really cold in the wind. My cell phone died from the cold, wish I had brought handwarmers with me. Glad I had a hat - noticed that most of the folks without hats ended up inside instead of standing out on deck. Don't take a boat tour if you're prone to sea sickness; once you're out of the harbour there are some fantastic waves. Really enjoyed. Might be better to go to Bay Bulls / Witless Bay to see puffins, this tour is better for viewing the city and Cape Spear.

If you are seeking a lacklustre tour at an expensive price this is the tour for you. Not only were no icebergs seen on the so called iceberg quest, but nothing else was seen either, save for a few birds about 500 ft away. I understand that you can’t control what is seen on each tour, however with a name like iceberg quest you might want to inform your patrons of the total lack of icebergs in the area before they are on the boat. That way I could have saved my $95 per person ticket on an actually valuable experience. The tour in fact has so few things to look at they were pointing at locations they had great icebergs last year, which at this time was just open water. A pretty disappointing experience.

I toured with Iceberg Quest in July 2019. I am just joining trip advisor so decided to leave reviews for restaurants, hotels and businesses that really stood out to me. To say Iceberg Quest Ocean Tours in St. John’s, NL just ‘stands out’ would be an understatement. Being originally from Newfoundland and growing up near the ocean, I was amazed to tour out of the narrows and see hundreds of humpback whales feeding, playing and breaching. I was left absolutely speechless at how truly amazing wildlife in their natural habit can be, and too see it from the ocean is beyond belief. Along with the hundreds of whales we seen that day, we also seen puffins and other seabirds and one small iceberg that was left lingering in the area beyond the normal season. The captain knew exactly where to go to offer the best experience while providing information and knowledge about the buildings and structures on the hillside. The crew was amazing from the moment we met on the dock until we returned. I recommend anyone to take part in this tour, whether you are from Newfoundland or beyond. It truly is amazing!! I can’t wait to be able to visit and tour with Iceberg Quest again!!
