Great views, delicious beer, decent menu choices
We had a very nice lunch here after walking from St.John's along the Signal Hill trail. On a coolish foggy day, the enclosed patio was warm and comfortable. Our server Matt was very efficient and friendly. We had been told to get the beer in the blue bottles - the Iceberg beer - so we did. But the beer list was very extensive. Other were sampling flights of beer. There are quite a lot of menu offerings. We chose the soup of the day and a chickpea wrap. Food was delicious. This was a great spot. The views in better weather would be outstanding.

An easy 5 stars! One of my favourite spots ever with the tastiest beer ever!
An easy 5! Arguably my favourite place we visited on our trip. We had the tastiest beer we’ve ever had and got to taste test so many! The view was spectacular, I loved being able to drink next to a beautiful mountain in a quaint little sea village. The spinach and artichoke dip was tasty and cheesey too! Favourite beers included Blackberry Rosemary, Aloha, Candy Store IPA, Iron Sour Cherry and so many more. An absolute Mia visit! Loved the little merch shop as well. Bought an orange shirt :D

So good we came back for a second day
Great food, really great beer all made more memorable because of our outstanding server, Bhaskar. We liked the lunch experience yesterday so much that we went back today and were lucky enough to have Bhaskar serve us again. The roasted red pepper & tomato soup was really flavourful as were the mains - the fried chicken sandwich and the burger were really, really good. One of our group is a vegetarian and one is gluten-free - Bhaskar had some thoughtful recommendations which exceeded expectations. We will definitely recommend the restaurant to our friends.

Great Beer with a Great View !
Great place to visit after visiting Signal Hill. Parking is limited but the drinks and view make up for that. We travelled all over Eastern Newfoundland and drank Quidi Vidi beer everywhere we went, so of course we had to go to the brewery in St. Johns. We love the Iceberg lager, the 1892 and the cherry sour. All different and all tasty! Too bad we cant get this beer back home !

    Great Location, Food and Service
We stopped here for lunch on a busy Saturday. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table and after being seated inside, a table opened up on the patio and the host was happy to move us outside. The patio is great, on the water with wonderful views. We were with another couple and we both decided to share a two-piece fish and chips with our partners. Fish was excellent, fresh and not greasy, as were the fries. This is in a quiet setting close to downtown St. John's and a great place for lunch or dinner. Only negative is parking can be a challenge on a busy weekend. Many cheers ................

We live in Ontario but every time we come to St. John's for years now we always go to Quidi Vidi and make a stop at the brewery. We had a great tour and tasting few years back. Since then we always made a stop at the store to purchase beer and other things. This year we came with our family who has never been there before and we were very disappointed. The new layout of the restaurant and shop is very poor. Especially the shop part. We decided not to stay and do the tasting as it was very crowded but wanted to buy beer as we do like it. The "store" has only one fridge and very limited selection. They don't have anything to put the purchases in. We were going to buy some new beer mugs also but how am I suppose to carry it all to my car when you have nothing to put it in. Sadly we will not be back anymore. There are a lot of new places worth checking. Like Dildo brewery, fantastic service, beautiful views also, great beer and proper store to buy beer and accessories.

Beautiful location on the shore. Brews were nice and reasonably priced. Food selection was limited to a few selections from a chip truck. Merchandise for sale was also limited. Too bad on both counts as a lost opportunity. This was reinforced when we noticed the majority of the clients at the brewery appeared at the restaurant next door for lunch. I will not name it. Good luck

Cool place but the hype is overstated. The kitchen party means they have a live band but nothing out of the ordinary. Food is pricey for what you get, especially the cup of seafood chowder you get with a dinner roll that sells for$ 14.99, which is absurd. Presentation of there meals and portion size definitely needs to be reviewed/increased for the prices they are charging. The beer is good though. Would definitely not recommend or go back.

So disappointing. Service was horrible. Don’t know if our waitress was new, overworked, or just a poor server. We literally sat there for close to a 1/2 hr after being seated and no one came to take our drink order. Tried to flag someone down but no one would pay attention until my husband loudly yelled “excuse me” at a male server who said he’d send our waitress over. By the time our fish and chips was ready, she hadn’t brought cutlery despite saying she would so my husband went and got it. Fish was delicious, fries were very dark (I liked but my Newf friends didn’t), gravy was gelatinous but tasty. Tartar sauce waaay too mustardy. She asked if we wanted anything else and we said no thank you. She never returned with our bill and seemed surprise when we were standing inside waiting for our bill “oh did you want your bill?” I wouldn’t return for anything more than beers, and only because the setting on the deck is beautiful.

While visiting Quidi Vidi, we stopped at the brewery for the famous iceberg beer. They know how to brew beer for sure as it was absolutely delicious. While there, we decided to have lunch. After ordering, we were told that the brewery doesn't actually have a restaurant and the food is cooked in food trucks outside. We were given a buzzer that alerted us to when the food was ready then we had to walk down the stairs to retrieve our meals. Ridiculous. The server is only there basically to bring drinks and collect the money. The food is not worth the expensive price. Tiny calamari the size of a nickel. Frozen fries. The smallest chicken wings we've ever seen. This brewery should stick to beer and forget about serving food.

Quidi Vidi Brewery
Pros- gorgeous little brewery on the water. Patio dining. Some tasty food
Cons - waited for 20 minutes for a waiter to take our order. Waited another 20 minutes to get our drinks. After another 45 minutes asked the waiter to please check on our food. It arrived 15 minutes later. Over cooked fries but the cod and the chicken were very tasty. Two beers, one two piece cod dinner and one chicken burger $80.00.
Also - note there is no parking near this place. 4 spots in front of the restaurant but otherwise prepare to park a distance away and walk.

Wonderful views on the outer deck. Great service. Huge selection of tasty beer. Fun atmosphere where you find yourself making friends with the surrounding tables because you just will. Food truck right outside the entrance door where you can buy your food and bring it right into the tasting deck. The entrance door could be hard to find, just follow the signs.

You don't want to leave sitting at the outdoor patio by the sea, having a craft beer
beer and a dose of East Coast Fish & Chips. It is so beautiful there. Quidi Vidi Brewery is a must-visit when you are visiting St. John's.

My husband and I went to the brewery as we were told the beer and the fish & chips were awesome. Well, we must have picked the wrong day. First, I ordered a cocktail and it arrived without ice. Apparently they ran out of ice! After drinking for a couple of hours, we tried to order food only to be told the kitchen had completely run out of ALL food. This was at 4:30 on a Saturday! What!? I’ve never been to a restaurant that ran out of food. Our server, Emma, did the best she could….she was great. I sent a text message the next day to complain, but no one bothered to answer. We were told there was a private function being held that evening….not sure what they were going to eat!?
Would not recommend.
