Overview
More
Cut from the ancient rock of Signal Hill in St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador, the Johnson GEO CENTRE takes you deep underground to experience the story of planet Earth. Discover our planet's incredible history, get the real story behind the sinking of the Titanic, learn about the volcanoes, earthquakes and natural forces that shape the very ground beneath our feet, and so much more. Explore the interactive exhibits on your own or join our interpreters on a guided tour. The kids will love playing in the Hibernia KidsPlace and experiencing our multimedia film complete with rain and lightning. You can all enjoy lunch at our onsite cafe and take home unique keepsakes from GEO GIFTS. Then, take your learning outside with a walk through our GEO VISTA PARK. At the Johnson GEO CENTRE, we'll show you Earth from the inside, out! The GEO CENTRE is wheelchair accessible and offers free, off-street parking. Bus parking also available.

Terrible wouldn't be the word to describe the GEO CENTRE. But average wouldn't be the word either. For the reviews I've seen on here, I must say, did we go to the same place? We only went in because we saw that students got in...More

The Province of Newfoundland and Labrador is nicknamed “the Rock” for a reason. From St John’s and Gros Morne, to the Torngat Mountain National Park this province is very exciting to geologists. This alone makes a visit to the Geo Centre an excellent rainy day...More

This place is different -- and definitely worth some time on a day when the weather drives us indoors. The sun was shining this time, so we did only a quick revisit to a place we had more fully explored during an earlier sojourn in...More

You'll need at least 2-3 hours to get in all the sites here. Very informative display about the Titanic as well as the geological make-up of St. John's. Cost was $12 for an adult and $9 for students.

We found the exhibits well done for the most part and the personnel was very helpful. The thing that really got to me was that it seemed to be biased towards oil and gas INDUSTRY. That in my opinion should not be in a science...More
