We really enjoy our evenings skating at The Loop. It’s a beautiful facility and well maintained. I was disappointed this year to see that Beaver Tails is no long there. It would be nice to be able to get a hot chocolate or a treat. But the skating is awesome!

We stayed nearby in St John's, and found this place when looking for parking. It was the best place to be on a really hot day! The splash pad area is fantastic, and everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves in it.
The play area itself was great too, and there seemed to be lots of open space.

Bannerman Park is located close to the downtown of St. John's in a richly historic area. The park, which has been recently revitalized, features many of these aspects in its decoration, including iron lamp posts and fencing along its lovely trails.

Bannerman has lots of grassy space as well as a new playground, baseball field, garden, splash pad and pool house. The pool is small, but heated, and is supervised by lifeguards throughout the day.

The park contains clean, indoor bathrooms, seating areas such as benches and picnic tables, as well as a gazebo pavilion. In the winter you can skate along the outdoor trail called The Loop.

This park is great for use of everyone and their pets.

We found this park up the hill and outside of the center, so most tourists would not find it. That's OK since it was ordinary. Great for the local folks, but not so special for visitors.

We stopped here to rest after an hour climbing hills and checking out the local sights. This is a place where locals come to enjoy the day and kids ride bikes and skateboards. There are also public bathrooms here.

When we lived in St. John's in 2014, we were right around the corner from this park and spent a great deal of time here, relaxing and getting away from the hostel where we worked. There are so many cool little nooks and crannies in this park and we pretty much saw them all. This is also a good spot for music and arts and we saw bands playing here and Shakespeare being performed, and all sorts of colorful characters. Towards the back of the park is an oval-shaped ring of trees that form a sort of fortress and is a really awesome place to sequester yourself if you want to read or relax in the park without all the people around. I miss this spot.

Went here with our small children and they loved it! It looks like a park for all seasons! There is a concession for snacks, playgrounds, pool, skating round...list goes on :)

The Loop at Bannerman Park is a #1 outdoor facility for any person looking for a little outdoor exercise. Both in daytime and nighttime, there is always someone skating at The Loop. Best time to skate is right when it opens at 10 am; or right after the zamboni has cleaned the ice.

Bannerman Park, recently updated, has something for everyone. It is a jewel in the midst of the city, with pleasant walking areas, a memory garden for quiet contemplation, a play area with summer splash pad for kids, a pool and newly refurbished facilities, a baseball diamond, and an incredible skating loop for winter activities, among other features. Throw a frisbee, relax in the sun, check out the gardens, or head to the nearby Hungry Heart Cafe at Rawlins Cross and pick up a take-away "Loop Bag" picnic lunch, and enjoy a stroll and a delicious meal.

Bannerman Park on a sunny day is not to be missed! The complete re-do has been worth the wait. What a wonderful place to take your kids swimming, to the playground, to have a picnic, to hang out and read on the grass, and to just talk to people. A real gem in the heart of the city for sure.
