About
Cameron River Falls Hiking Trail is located just 47 km east of Yellowknife, along the Ingraham Trail. The Cameron Falls Trail and Day Use Area are within the Hidden Lake Territorial Park. Upon entry to the Park there is a small parking lot with washroom facilities and the hike along a the well-marked trail to Cameron Falls takes about 20 minutes. In winter the falls are frozen right over. In spring, melt-waters roar under the ice. Attractions & Points of Interest: It is possible to hike upstream from Cameron Falls to the Cameron River Ramparts Waterfalls, a distance of 8 or 9 km. The trail is not well developed, but the river is relatively easy to follow and the route is obvious. If you choose to follow the north (far) side of the river, there is a foot bridge at Cameron Falls, which also offers access into the rest of Hidden Lake Park. The park offers access for canoeists to the Lower Cameron River Canoe Route, one of the Ingraham Trail Canoe Routes.

Beautiful spot! A fairly short walk in that leads to the falls. Easy to navigate with a boardwalk and stairways. There was still a lot of snow and ice in April but I can imagine how beautiful it would be in the summer!

The hike was challenging but short, lots of up and downs over rock. Take a pic of the map before you go in, the trail is well marked (look for the rebar signs with the little blue hiker) but it is nice to know how far along you are. Be sure to go past the falls to the bride it is a beautiful area as well. It takes about an hour all together. I would be nervous with kids and off leash pets, Also very clean outhouses.

The hike was more challenging than we expected, but we were rewarded with a fabulous view and the opportunity to cross the bridge and hike down to the falls. Only two of us did this, so you can imagine that it was challenging. The ones who stayed on the other side felt it was a good outing.

It’s worth the hike! Beautiful nature trail, well marked. The spectacular Falls at the end of hike with outstanding views. We also saw a few Bald Eagles. Very peaceful. I’ve got a couple of bad knees but managed just fine. There are areas of level ground, bridges, inclines and declines, and stairs.

Spent the day hiking Cameron falls . Really enjoyed the wild roses everywhere! Well marked trail that had a lookout over the falls with benches to sit on and enjoy the view!

If you are ok to walk up and down, you will be able to enjoy this one. The view in general is beautiful. Even before seeing the falls. It might be a bit slippery with snow on the rocks, just be careful. The only thing that I was a bit disappointed when I went, was that the bridge that crossover the falls was closed for repair.

This is easy to find and you should visit. There are washrooms in the parking lot and the trail is well marked. This is uphill with rock and it was slippery due to rain. This walk is moderate in my opinion and is not suitable for anyone with limited mobility.

This trail starts about 50 km outside of Yellowknife, at Hidden Lake Territorial Park. It's an easy drive to get there. The trail is very well marked, and the scenery is stunning. There are some areas where you need to clamber up some rocky terrain, and others where you need to climb wooden stairs. You'll be puffing a bit but it's well worth it! Outhouse and proper parking lot at trail entrance...

Happen to be in Yellowknife? Then I highly recommend this hike.

The trails are well-maintained and somewhat easy to navigate. With Yellowknife being on the Canadian Shield, there are rockier areas where you will need to watch your step. Would also highly recommend bringing bug-spray and/or covering yourself up since the mosquitoes are pretty nasty.

Once you get to the lookout point, don't stop there! Follow the stairs down which will bring you to a footbridge leading you to the other side of the falls for a different view. From there you can make your way to the edge of the falls but the path down is quite steep.

Overall if you are looking for a beautiful and exciting experience, go check out this hike!
