North of 60 Aurora Adventures provided us with phenomenal customer service - Kelly saved the first night of our vacation! After our flight into Yellowknife was severely delayed, we were going to miss both our winter clothing pickup and our hotel pickup for our Skydome experience. Kelly generously offered her assistance, and ensured that their van (driven by Doug, who was a fantastic guide) picked us up at the airport with our clothing waiting for us, after which we were taken straight to the Skydome! We are so grateful for her personal touch, flexibility, and kindness, without which we'd have missed an AMAZING night of Aurora viewing.
The Skydome itself is comfortable and cozy, although the bathroom is tiny and not heated. You will also want to go outside to see the lights, as the Skydome windows only face one direction and don't allow for the clearest views. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the experience - the heated dome is perfect for warming up between trips outside, and you get a small-group experience (other venues will have you packed inside with far more guests on a stricter schedule). Overall, I would highly recommend North of 60 Aurora Adventures' Skydome experience - this was the perfect way to spend the first night of our trip!

Our late-summer (September) visit with North of 60 was in 2 parts. In the afternoon we were treated to home made bannock and stew, and the personal story of the proprietors' family with generations of dog-sledding, living of the land, and how stories in Indigenous tongues are being rescued and shared anew. We also got to play traditional Dene games. We returned at 10 pm to begin aurora-viewing. waiting in the cozy, comfortable dome until they appeared and then enjoying unimpeded views from the deck once the lights were out. A truly comfortable and convenient way to enjoy them, hosted by gracious and caring people.

This was an absolute blast. Riding was exhilarating and driving was even better. My grandkids loved the video I sent them of us racing across the snow. I don’t often review things but I wanted to give a shout out to North of 60 Aurora Adventures, great experience, great people.

Very nice location to watch the Auroras privately. Kelly, one of the owners, gave us the VIP treatment. She was great and anticipated all of our needs. She was very helpful and extremely nice. They have a very confortable Skydome, ideal to stay warm and watch the Auroras.

Mushing with dogs is one of the great options of visiting Yellowknife…and this family run business is really terrific. They are known as people to treat their dogs in a very sensitive manner…and it’s absolutely true. They are very caring people and they truly embraced us and made sure we felt comfortable, safe, and welcome in their compound. Great history lesson and an introduction to a special bread they made was all part of a wonderful experience. Kelly, her husband and son, all made the experience special…and their dogs are amazing spirits.

Expanding their offerings for summer tourists, North of 60 provided a fun filled learning experience for our tour group. We enjoyed feeling pelts of a variety of native animals and seeing taxidermies of those critters. Drumming, filleting a fish, seeing and trying on handmade winter clothing, harnessing sled dogs and having our photos taken with them were all highlights of the visit. We cooked bannock over an open fire and filled up on a lunch of BBQed whitefish, baked potatoes and salad. The family shared many personal stories and have big plans for the future of their business.

We had a fabulous ride in December with 7 of us, one small child and 6 adults. The team was accommodating for our party and helpful. It was a lot of fun in the sleds and loved petting many of the dogs. The dogs were very energetic and excited to be working. Highly recommend a tour with this fantastic family business!

Six of us chose the stand up dog sled ride. What a blast! Everyone had a fabulous time “mushing” our own team of dogs thru a picturesque area just outside Yellowknife. Kelly picked us up at our hotel for a short comfortable ride to their location. Once onsite we encountered their beautiful and friendly greeting dog and we knew we were in good hands.
The sled dogs were all keen to get us out for our rides, and they all seemed to be well cared for. Kelly and her husband keep about 50 dogs, many bred from huskies and greyhound rescues.
The entire team at North of 60 were very friendly, helpful and all showed a great deal of care for their dogs and their clients. I would love to do this again!

Wow! What an incredible experience from start to finish.
Kelly, Wynter and everyone involved were so friendly, welcoming and knowledgable and clearly love the dogs and what they're doing. They were happy to answer any questions and share what they know.
A family run business where the dogs are clearly well looked after, cared for and loved, and an intimate and fun day for us with just the two of us there that day.
The dogs were so excited to run and happy, and we got to pat and cuddle them and the puppies as long as we wanted. Smiles and wagging tails all around.
Can't wait to go back. :)
Thank you!!!

On paper it seems simple - drive a sled pulled by a team of dogs. But in reality, it is so exciting and fun! We were lucky to have a beautiful blue sky day. The feeling of driving a sled is one of the best feelings. Wynter was so great about skidoing ahead so she could get photos and videos of us. My friend and I switched half way so we both had a chance to drive. The track we mushed on was beautiful. We got to meet the puppies after!! Unforgettable experience.
