Overview
More
Situated in the capital of the Northwest Territories, the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre (PWNHC) produces exhibitions that tell stories about the land, people, and history of the NWT. However, the PWNHC is "more than a museum". In addition to its exhibits, education, collections, and conservation programs, the PWNHC houses the NWT Archives, provides technical, logistic, and financial support to individuals and organizations involved in cultural activities and the arts, and authorizes archaeological studies in the NWT. The Museum also houses a cafe that provides delectable fares from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on weekdays.

It's awesome place to get some introduction about NWT. I like all the exhibits; the animals look real and the information is thorough. I highly recommend this place for family with children. The best thing is free admission.

The museum is free with some neat exhibits. I loved the native bead word on display. There are also some cool pieces from the history of air travel to the north. Worth the time and a nice reprieve from the cold.

A very fun and educational way to spend 2-3 hours. You learn a lot about the history of the place and some interesting artifacts. Being from the lower 48 US, it was interesting to see how humanity found ways to survive and thrive in one...More
