We had the pleasure of visiting the legislature building while on a recent trip to Yellowknife. The building is very unique as is Northwest Territories Governance. There is a tour at 10:30 a.m. every morning by a young lady in communications. Lots to see and learn. The tour is about 20 minutes, but worth it.

The inside is interesting but the grounds are beautiful, be sure to visit the area near the 2nd parking lot as well as taking the trail behind the building by the 1st parking lot.

We had an amazing tour given by one of the staff members - so interesting and she took us into all public areas of the building. Definitely a "must" to see on your visit to Yellowknife.

The free tour is a must do. Was brought here by a local colleague and I was skeptical but it completely blew me away. So informative and kept me engaged even though I am not a history buff/museum lover. Definitely worth the visit.

There's an excellent free tour on weekdays that covers the basics of consensus government and the design and features of the building. The building is beautiful with lots of interesting history and artwork; I appreciated the guide's knowledge.

We were allowed to enter, but there were no guided tours at the time we were there. The security person opened the doors for us to go in.

This building is a representation of the heritage of the NWT and an absolute must to tour. Built in the round to honour consensus government the details in every part of the building are worth learning about. I especially loved the original ceremonial mace and the modern one and all of the unique art pieces on display throughout.
