I will never do this again specially with this Company. Awful experience! The dogs are malnourished and skinny and they say the dogs have no fat and its all muscle that's why they look so thin. Seriously? The dogs are not even husky nor Malamute alaska, they are just poor stray dogs who ended up there, who are chained in that brutal weather. I don't know how bad they are forced to work but one of the dogs who was in the sled fell and it was being dragged by the other dogs. Can you imagine how tired he was! Total animal abuse!

From the equipment rental, pick up at the hotel, tour of the facilities, comfort of the Teepees, friendly friendly staff and the idyllic setting it was everything they promised. Plus we were luck and had views of the Aurora Borealis both nights we visited.

Excellent service from driver and guide Chaplin who is very attractive and friendly. Too bad, it was cloudy and no show of the Aurora.

They didn't do bad but they just did NOT do good. If you are looking for the BEST tour company, not this one. Please really read. My flight from Toronto (to Calgary) to Yellowknife on Feb 29 was cancelled because of the weather. I was scheduled another flight arriving on same day 2130. I emailed them if I could be picked up directly at the airport. They just replied: we recommend flight before 7pm, winter always delay, cancellation not refundable blablabla...... They love to copy things from their website, not even paraphrasing. And whats the point of telling me those? They did NOT even spend a second trying to help. That day I arrived earlier at 2120 and then immediately took a taxi to their last pick-up point at the Stanton Suites but I made it at 2127, 7 minutes later than they had arrived. I knew it was the guides' responsibility to pick up ppl on time. But the point is 7 minutes. Just 7 minutes ONLY. Friends of the same flights, I met later in restaurant, told me that their tour company was willing to make changes for them. They WERE picked up at the airport. When other companies can tolerate being 10 minutes (and btw being late was not our intention was not our fault), Arctic Tours Canada just CANT.

We were on a 4 day trip and we managed to see aurora in 2 nights out of the 3! Clothing provided was very warm. Our aurora hunting guide Denis was a very friendly person who spent a lot of time chatting with us and told us a lot about the places. We also went to aurora village on the second evening and it was a beautiful place where you can dine in or stay in a tent while waiting for aurora. A very nice trip overall!
