What a great place to get a 360 degree view of the city and surrounding area. Best place in town to watch the northern lights

Q-Trip: First, book an Old Town walking tour with
Strong Interpretation which begins at this point.
The centre of Old Town is your start to touring
Raggedy A Lane, Weaver & Devore Trading with
great restaurants and super funky buildings steps away.
Strong Interpretation has a self-guided tour app.
This is a story that need local background.

Great view of the area

Nice walk from town - slight elevation gain and numerous stairs at the monument but well constructed and informative. Just over a mile from the Explorer Hotel

A fairly easy walk up some stairs to this monument which gives you nice views of Old Town, and the Great Slave Lake and surrounds. Worth the walk.

Nice place to start if you want to discover old town. Great scenery, some history about aviation (my favorite), and then a nice walk to downtown - with a few stops in various stores along the way if you're cold.

Great views!!!

It was a cold, beautifulday when we went to the monument. You have to walk up a number of stairs to get to the top, so this is not an attraction for someone with mobility ssues. Once there, the views of Yellowknife and the surrounding area is excellant.

Beautiful view of the city
Oct. 2019
This hill gives a beautiful view of the city, water houses, and more. One thing I might suggest you do before, if it's a windy day, make sure to dress for it unless the cold wind (not summer) is not something you are afraid of. You will enjoy even more
