If you plan to be on the South Shore in Nova Scotia and will be near Shelburne, check out what is going on at the Osprey Arts Center at their web site. Whatever there is going on, buy your tickets in advance, pick them up at the door and prepare yourself to have a wonderful evening. Everytime my wife and I have gone it has been terrific. This theater is modern in looks, and what it offers. Movies, great shows, art events and functions. Offering a remarkable mixture of music, theater, art, sculpture, dance, streaming live performances from NY, and Londons WEST END, the Osprey is a great place.

It is great that a town as small as Shelburne has its own theatre. We cannot say the same for Lunenburg, a much bigger town. The seating is very comfortable, the people running it very pleasant and it is located right on the waterfront. I attended a performance of Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado by the Maritime Concert Opera group. The theatre is very intimate, so it is not difficult to hear what is said on the stage. However, the sound gets deadened very quickly, so that the singing was rather flat -- no reverb at all to add colour to the music. It's too bad. Experience overall was very good, however.…
