Fav vineyard in the valley
Sep. 2020
By far my favourite vineyard in the valley with their sparkling rose. Very pricey for the samples and snacks. We unfortunately came the same day as a wedding so the main dining area was closed (which has beyond the best pizzas in the area) I would recommend checking in advance if you plan to eat here on weekends to avoid that disappointment. What a fantastic place to have a wedding! The aesthetics of this place is beautiful. I love the big grand fireplace at the entrance. If you come here you must sample the sparkling rosé and purchase a bottle while you’re here :)

Flight With An Amazing View
Sep. 2020 • Couples
The last of our three winery stops today. A beautiful setting. Bubbly white was my favourite of my flight.

Stellar
Aug. 2020
We had a wonderful lunch outside overlooking the vineyards. The service was stellar and the view outstanding. We had the pizza which was very tasty and the olives were to die for. We tried a few of the wines and loved them all.

Great Lunch
Aug. 2020 • Couples
Stopped in here today for a lunch and wine.

Welcomed by great friendly staff members, we were sit down right away. We bought a pizza, garlic finger and wine.

Food was very expensive, way too much, however we came here for the experience. Food was also freshly made and good.

If you love fine dining, expensive, this is the right place for you.

Amazing Memories at Lightfoot
Sep. 2019
The Lightfoot family is amazing. We rented the wine cellar for our Parents anniversary and they were professional, kind and genuine through the whole process.

The grounds were stunning, the cellar was beautiful and the ambiance was truly magical.

Kori was a treat to deal with. We hit one hiccup and she approached the situation like a champion showing professionalism and compassion for our event and what this meant to our family.

Also a special thanks to James, Megan, Kane, & Jackie who delivered top notch service throughout the event. Lightfoot sets the standard for excellency in the Nova Scotia Winery and Event Planning Business.

A nice afternoon and dinner
Aug. 2020 • Friends
Visited with my wife, mom, and brother for their tasting and a dinner afterwards. The wines were good, although fairly pricey. The tasting was very quick and less detail was “pushed” to us when compared to other tastings I’ve had. The property and views were beautiful and we went for a walk around the grounds prior to dinner. The food at the restaurant was outstanding; I had the buttermilk fried chicken (a special of the day) which was very crispy and juicy on the inside, while everyone else had pizza, which was thin crust and flavourful. The olives and almonds to snack on at the start were also unique and delicious.

Late Lunch at Lightfoot - A Definite Do-Again!
Aug. 2020
Our first time at Lightfoot. Won't be our last!
This is such a fantastically gorgeous location with a picture-postcard view! We dined outside under the large carnival tent, sitting on the outside edge with a direct view across the valley to the picturesque Blomidon. We started with a shared charcuterie board. A definite do-again choice! The three of us each ordered a different pizza, one with a gluten free crust. All were perfectly done, with light and crispy crusts and lots of fresh ingredients. Such a terrific meal!

Relaxing lunch in lovely surroundings
Aug. 2020
The Lightfoot and Wolfville is a lovely spot. Beautiful view of Blomidon and the main building is gorgeous with well-appointed displays of wines and gifts. I was there with my granddaughter this past Thursday for a late lunch. We shared garllc fingers and a summer vegetable salad. I added chicken to the salad. I don't really drink so we never tasted their wines, although I hear they are very good. The garlic fingers were delicious. The spring vegetable salad was also very good, with fresh baby greens and nice crisp vegetables, accompanied by a honey dijon dressing. The only letdown was the chicken that I added. It was slightly overcooked and dry. Not worth the extra $6.00 to my mind. In spite of that, it was an enjoyable and relaxing lunch on their lovely, airy patio. A nice respite on a very hot day. The waitstaff and host were very friendly and welcoming. The vineyard is worth visiting for the atmosphere alone. If you go, definitely try the garlic fingers.

Beautiful views and setting
Aug. 2020 • Friends
This winery has all the earmarks of “California Wine Chic” - soaring open spaces, inviting seating, large outdoor fireplace, large area to purchase some wine-related, as well as other items.
It would have been a 5 star rating, except that the wines were just so-so, and somewhat expensive for the 4 sample pour, given that there was no choice of wines to sample.

When some easy to accommodate requests were met with a certain indifference, it made our group think that we needn’t return. Specifically, we asked for some simple bread or crackers to cleanse our palates between wines, we were given a small plate with maybe 10 one inch round multigrain crisps. Then we were charged for them, which wasn’t a lot, but made us wonder. We also asked if one of the cake desserts could be prepared to take away, and were told “no”, even though the restaurant was at closing hour. Again, there was no effort to be sympathetic, and made us think that the driving force here was to make money, not insure a repeat visit. So- we’ll stick to some other wineries and more welcoming staff.

The exception to this, however, was the young man who greeted us at the door and who said goodbye. He was charming, and clearly knew how to make guests feel welcome.
We didn’t try any of the pizzas, so can’t comment on them, though those I saw in passing looked very good!
