There was nothing creepy about this, and it was actually both entertaining and very informative. Everyone is given a lantern to carry so you don't need to be concerned about stumbling in the dark. It was so well done and we quite enjoyed it! Kudos to whoever came up with this idea.

This was AMAZING! We walked through a historic site with candlelight lanterns. Our guide was super knowledgeable and very personable. He knew his stuff and presented it in an entertaining manner. I would absolutely go again!

Allen Melanson is an amazing guide! He loves what he does and it shows! He has lead this Candlelight Graveyard tour for 27 years! From handing out the lanterns (candles) to the last step of the tour Allen is personable, informative, entertaining and passionate! Every visitor should grasp the chance to experience this tour - it's an opportunity to see a master interpreter at work!

Incredibly unique experience to walk through a 400+ year old graveyard in the dark of night by candlelight and hear tales of the historic past that shaped the town into what it is today. Would highly recommend this tour to both visitors and locals. Alan Melanson is an excellent guide and historian. 5 star experience!

Alan, the tour leader, is the very knowledgeable and enthusiastic past president of the local historic society. The ridiculously small fee for this 90+ minute tour (C$10= US$7.5) is donated to the society and he frequently points out items on the walk that monies have paid for.
Alan is bright, passionate and speaks like an actor. All 16 of the folks who showed up that night- it is THE thing to do in this charming town at night- seemed to have a great time schlepping with candle lanterns in a cemetery in the dark.

Take the time to join this 1 hr and 15 minute walking tour into this historic graveyard. Alan was our host and he made history completely engaging, interesting and even fun. The tour meets in the parking lot of the Fort Anne historic site and although the tour starts at 930 pm I’d suggest arriving at 915. You need to bring $10 cash for each person. You’re assigned a replica of an old lantern to carry to light your way that has a lit candle inside it. It’s not a super long walk at all but wear comfortable shoes. It’s not scary. So worth it!
