We just returned from 10 days in Nova Scotia - the first 4 in Cape Breton. We had a marvelous time and are still learning from our adventures. Not to be missed: All the people who are so very nice and helpful; the French bakeries...More

Friends of mine who live in Cape Breton recommended driving the Cabot Trail counter clockwise and ending up in Cheticamp. Driving the trail this way puts you on the outside of the highway and allows the best view of the ocean view. I did this...More

Really nice land/sea scape. Great views and nice hiking trails. But I recommend doing it in a car. There were bicyclists that I really pitied. The grades are very long and steep - not for amateurs. But honestly, not sure I would come to the...More

We spent a day driving the Cabot Trail. Many pull off areas to take pictures, and we especially liked visiting the very top of the island. We had a coyote run right in front of our car. We did not see any moose or bear....More

We drove 18 hours to Cape Breton Island. The drive through Nova Scotia was outstanding. So many things to do along the Cabot Trail. We took hundreds if photos. We saw moose and black bear. Easy to enjoy for the sight seer or those who...More

The Cabot trail has lovely scenery and plenty of good hotels. The weather is often foggy, particularly in the morning, but the beauty of the island is maintained throughout. We were accompanied by Kiwi Caboodle (aka Greg Inglis) who carted our larger bags from point-to-point...More

So many great views along the trail within the park - it is fully worth it to stop at each overlook, it might seem like too many stops, but each was unique and worth it. The quality of the road is a bit dodgy outside...More

I will agree with most of the reviewers and mention the awful condition of the roads along the trail. We started the Cabot trail by taking the ferry at Englishtown and all the way around until we got onto the Ceilidh Trail (around Inverness) These...More

While I would love to give this 5 stars, the condition of some sections of route 19, were really bad, rough, bump and full of pot-holes that threatened to swallow a motorcycle tire. But the sections that had been redone were excellent and the view!...More

If you have never toured the Cabot Trail you must add it to your bucket list. The views are just fabulous. If you can arrange it, try to drive the trail on a sunny day so you can stop at the many places you can...More

We planned our own itinerary and hired a hiking guide. She did the accommodations bookings, arranged the logistics and did all driving. We just enjoyed the hikes and the sceneries. The most relaxing holidays ever.
