The Trail is stunning... the drive is amazing but right now (August 2017) The construction is horrible and ruins a lot of the experience. Not sure why the Nova Scotia government decided to do such a major project during high season in Canada's 150th birthday...More

It's easy to combine this drive with visiting CB Highlands Natl Park, which the drive mostly encloses. While it has several beautiful vistas, it also has long stretches of relatively boring drive. I prefer several other drives, such as Rte 1 in Maine or the...More

You almost get complacent about the amazing views as there are so many of them. From fascinating and dramatic coastal rock formations to calm and beautiful sunsets, Cape Breton has it on the trail. There is a nice feeling everywhere we went, where you consistently...More

The drive along the west coast of Cape Breton Island along the coast is absolutely breathtaking. And anyone who says there are no views on the inland trek of this remarkable piece of highway had their eyes closed. Highway is a rather loose term for...More

Contrary to many reviews we have read on the net and other places, this is a good trip but nowhere near the best or even the most notable we have been on. For one thing, the spoiler is a huge part of the northern trail...More

Very scenic and mostly unspoiled coastal and mountain area. Many places to stop and enjoy nature, then grab a bite or take in local craft shopping. Did this run years ago on a motorcycle - what a fun ride that was. There was some construction...More

Anything comfortable - it sometimes gets chilly so you probably need some jackets and sweaters. However, I did pretty well in spring with just leggings and some long sleeved shirts + jackets. If you're looking to hike you... More

I would like to stay in Baddeck, a small cute town where Alexander Bell lived. Google it. I love it. Wish you have a fantastic trip in Canada's East Coast. Sorry about the late reply.
