Looks a lot like driving through Maine. Nice, but not spectacular. We drove 5 hours each way from Halifax. Not worth visiting a second time.

Silver Dart Lodge in Baddeck was great and its in the middle of the trail so you could go either way.

We planned our own itinerary and hired a hiking guide. She did the accommodations bookings, arranged the logistics and did all driving. We just enjoyed the hikes and the sceneries. The most relaxing holidays ever.
