I have done many food tours in many different cities and countries . I really enjoy the experience of hearing about local history , culture and food- I think you really get a feeling for a place through the experience. Kathleen’s tour was honestly one of the best I have experienced . She is knowledgeable , engaging, and could discuss and expand on any topic our group happened to inquire about.
The food tastings were delicious and tied in perfectly with the history / culture she discussed. Plan to go with a robust appetite - servings were generous and so tasty you won’t leave anything on the table!

The Taste of Sydney food Tour was the best walking tour I’ve been on. Kathleen was a great guide and I learned a lot about the history of industrial Cape Breton! 100% would recommend if you are looking for something to do while visiting the area

Having visited Cape Breton numerous times, I was amazed by the diversity of Sydney that this tour unveiled for me. The stops along the way offered many local flavors, each more delightful than the last. Our guide, Kathleen, a true local and food enthusiast, shared captivating stories that enriched the experience. Her deep connection to the area and passion for food shone through at every stop.

As we embarked from our cruise ship for the day, we found Kathleen standing at the terminal with a sign advertising this food tour. There isn’t much to do in this town, but the food tour was delightful. Highly recommend.
Kathleen owns her own restaurant in town, so she knows all the local restaurant owners. A nice selection of food combined with wonderful descriptions about the history of Sydney. She even had some materials with her which was helpful to understand the geography.

Loved this food tour throughout downtown Sydney. We had so much fun. Kathleen was a great guide, we learned about Cape Breton's history, heard some entertaining stories and had delicious food at numerous cute spots downtown. I highly recommend.

Kathleen knocked it out of the park. Very knowledgeable about the history of both Sydney and Whitney Pier. Would definitely recommend. The only thing we could suggest would be smaller portions. We were stuffed. A nice pace and we really enjoyed the stop at Cider House.

Cruise holiday, stopped in Sydney and took the food tour with Kathleen (a Cape Breton native) who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Tour was timely and well paced. Food was very good and cider tasting was excellent! We highly recommend this tour.
