The Cossit House has been restored to how it would have been when it was first built with no electric lighting. The guide was knowledgable and interesting.

Built in 1787 this home belonged to Reverend Ranna and Thankful Cossit plus their six children. For CDN$2.00 you’ll learn about the family and the way of life in the 18th century. The friendly staff are dressed in the period costume. When you enter, there...More

We wandered into the house as part of our cruise ship stop. Good information and caretaker quite willing to share information. Slightly expensive for what is provided, but also understand that they need to raise funds to keep the house going.

House and furnishings are in good condition and give an idea what it was like to live back then. The costumed guides, who never break their first-person role-playing, especially "the nosey neighbor" were a treat. Not much better to see in Sydney when coming on...More

Be prepared to learn a lot about Cape Breton history by touring the oldest house there. Guides in period costume who assume the identities of a very interesting family of loyalists who fled New Hampshire (OK, that is weird history for Americans -- but we...More

A wonderful period house to explore on a rainy afternoon. Costumed staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Stepping back a few centuries in time ... fascinating!

Built in 1787, this house is in very good condition with all the old furniture etc and shows how the minister and his wife lived in the day. One of the oldest homes in Sydney

Sorry, I think that TripAdvisor has sent this to the wrong person. I merely visited the house as a tourist and do not run taxi tours!
