This is a lovely area, as is all of Nova Scotia probably. A pleasant place for a walk, quiet reflection or just relaxation.

My rent went from 1400.00 to 1800.00 then to 2000.00 in one year! Its nice to see the NS Government doesn't care about rent control for us. Its not Nova Scotians increasing the rents!

This is a picturesque lake near downtown Dartmouth. Next to the public gardens this is probably the 2nd most popular spot to get prom & wedding pictures.

Want to get away to a quiet spot to gather your thoughts and watch the ducks swim on the lake. I often go here to clear my mind. Its a gem inside the city of Dartmouth. Beautiful trails to walk and lots of scenery to take in. Great for strollers easy to get around. They have a nice simple play ground for little ones. There are always elderly people in the park as there are alot of them living across the street, they are always up to chat. The pond is beautiful and there are lots of geese who will steal your lunch.

Visited often in the summer, but this was the first time we walked the perimeter in the fall.
And it was delightful.
It was nice to see the daylighted section of the Sawmill River.
And the Interpretation Centre.
And the geese, of course!

As I explored Dartmouth, I came across this sprawling park. The large pond/lake is the central attraction and features a small island which is home to a most attractive totem pole (a gift from British Columbia). Several monuments and historical markers can be found here - a good way to learn a bit about local history, especially for those of us who are from out of town. There are very well maintained pathways throughout the park - most circle the pond itself. A small bridge spans the pond and gave me a glimpse of the city's old locks. Benches and shade trees surround the pond and make a most pleasant spot for relaxing.

This is a large pond with a flock of geese and beautiful flowers and landscaping. There are benches to rest on and reflect, and an amazing dragonfly sculpture. A gem in Dartmouth!

This is a beautiful little pond that was just updated last year with a new bridge and landscape, when the weather is warm you can see the older folks out with their mini sale boats ( remote control ) and they are beautiful, it is also a beautiful place to have wedding or grad pictures taken definitely worth taking a walk around the pond the water works is nice and colorful in the nights and the ducks will come out to say hello

Does it cost money to have a civil wedding ceremony here?

HI I am not sure if there is a charge but I would think there wouldn't be as I know there are many couples that go there and have their wedding pictures done there. Also a lot of graduation prom photos are taken there when the kids graduate. If may depend on if your guests are standing up or if you want to put chairs up. The gazebo us really nice but I know there are concerts booked there in the summer. The person who said you should check with the City would also be my first choice.Good luck it is a lovely spot just be careful of the duck and swan poop.

I am a Committee Member for a Craft & Vendors Market & was wondering if you have such events as this.
If so, could you reply with some info. on it.
We are searching for an outside Venue for a Market in the later part ofJune.
Sincerely

The best way to find out an answer to your question would be to contact the City. I do know that on Natal Day weekend which is the first weekend with a Monday in August there is a big celebration in Sullivan's Pond but otherwise I don't recall seeing any other big events there except for Lighting the Christmas Tree in December.
