This is as awe-inspiring as any forest waterfall I have seen in the Rockies: a brook gurgles through rocks then thunderously drops about 50 or 60 feet through a narrow rock channel to a deep pool below. You can walk safely right to the water. The area at the top of the fall is quite flat, mossy, and refreshingly, earthily, cool. Children would, of course have to be supervised. To get there, park at the Iron monument on the Evangeline Trail at Clemenspoer; the monument itself gives interesting historic information about the iron industry in this are. Go across the highway, and find the trail going relatively steeply uphill behind a small group of evergreens to the right of the building on the right which seems to have been part of a two building arts cooperative. At the top of the hill, the trail flattens out as it reaches the edge of a house. An old, but obviously very loyal, dog may come to bark at you, but, if so, someone from the house will come to pacify the dog. (By the way, I hope the owner of that land gets some tax break for allowing walkers across their land.) Contnue up a well trodden track, lively with the sound of water, for about 10-15 minutes - thinking all the while of how wonderful it will be to be going downhill the whole way back - until you see a sign which points to the left spur going to the waterfall. And then you're there.
