J Farwell Sailing Tours offers award-winning intimate, luxury sailing experiences! They offer harbour tours, hands-on adventures, local wine tastings, casual nightlife, and fully customizable private charters. Their sailing yacht fleet consists of two 45’ Beneteau Oceanis and a Lagoon 50’ Catamaran located in the heart of downtown Halifax on the Waterfront. Guests will be involved in every aspect of the sailing experience, allowing them to take part in what every sailor loves.

Went on the Family Fun Cruise. All of my children had a fantastic time, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Since my kids are young (3,5) they ask a TON of questions and by default are always in the way. The crew members held safety as the number one priority, while allowing the kids to try steering the ship, showing the kids the downstairs rooms, among other experiences, while answering millions of questions. I could not have asked for a better experience, and would recommend sailing with this company to anyone.

Captain Caleigh Brodie and first mate Tineke were incredible hosts and provided my friend and I with a spectacular sight seeing trip. Surprisingly this experience was one of my highlights of this summer.
The Captain and Tineke (not to be confused with The Captain and Tinnelle) were engaging, took time to explain the concepts of sailing and answered any questions. They smiled a lot. They also created a safety first atmosphere that allowed us to fully enjoy the moment.
I’d highly recommend the tour, and if you’re lucky, you’ll find yourself in the same capable hands that I did.

Sailing the boat was fun. The crew members were very helpful and knew their stuff. We had a full complement of ten people (a group of family/friends) due to COVID regulations, so we had book a week ahead to coordinate things. If you are local and time-flexible, you may want to book closer to the sailing date to get the wearher you want.

The kids are calling it the best day of the summer! Awesome crew, awesome experience, we will definitely be back. Captain Kirsty had the kids helping out, pulling lines, driving all while they learned about sailing and history of the harbor. We could not have asked for a better time. Thank you so much for the highlight of our summer.

We did the Signature Sail and it was lovely. The captain and co captain were very friendly and pleasant and gave us lots of information about the harbour. The deck hand was super friendly and wanted to talk to everybody. We also saw lots of seals and cormorants, which the entire crew was happy to teach us about. They also allowed me to take photos for my Instagram on the boat. I will definitely try and go back for another sail with them.

Once again a perfect experience on a private charter of the Reveree. Captian Tim is incredibly knowledgable and hostess Karina made us feel welcome. Unmatched views of the full moon made for a memorable night that will be a definate highlight of 2024.

Really enjoyed our harbor tour— excellent views of the Halifax waterfront. Our sailing boat captain, who experienced the growth period of the area, gave us an insight into its development, as well as some history of the area. We could not have made a better choice for this experience.

Our group had an incredible time on the water with Captain Brandon, Avery and Margaret. Truly, it will be a highlight of our Summer! From the very start they made us feel comfortable and at ease, explaining safety protocols, the course of the evening and all the working parts. They could not do enough to ensure we were having the best time - conversation, tunes, and drinks were great. We became fast friends! An all around wonderful sailing experience. Thank you!

What an amazing evening, I had so much fun. Thankful for our great crew. Tim (the captain)and Karina(2nd mate), couldn't ask for a better duo, the skill of the captain was incredible and Karina was lively and fun.. The sailing was amazing and the scenery was spectacular. Thanks so much, I would highly recommend, a great way to see Halifax and area.

The experience with J Farwell was truly amazing. Both the crews were friendly and provided us with lots of information about sailing. It was a new experience for us as a family, especially my 2 boys enjoyed the time thoroughly. Highly recommended.
