I did a small group tour of Lunenburg and Mahone bay. this was by far one of the best tours I've ever taken. Away from the crowds at Peggy's Cove, beautiful views and a leisurely pace.
When in Lunenburg and Mahone bay, our little group of 3 tourists with a guide were the only tourists. this is the way to see this lovely part of Nova Scotia!

The whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. From booking the tour, arranging pickup and the tour itself , everything was relaxing and exactly as promised. Our tour guide (Reg) had a wealth of knowlege of all things Nova Scotia and shared that knowlege in the most pleasant way. Highly recommend Anchor Tours.

Really great excursion! Our guide was Jeff and it was just our small group of 5. He was awesome and waited for me and my dad as we couldn’t get off the ship until 9:30am when the tour time was 9am. Jeff’s knowledge of Halifax was amazing - he narrated a good part of the drive to Lunenburg, talked about the Halifax Explosion of 1917 (!), pointed out all the sights then let us loose for 2.5 hours to explore the beautiful little town and get lunch. On the drive to Peggy’s Cove we were all in a food coma, so he just let us all nod off. Peggy’s cove was breathtaking - we had about 1.5 hours there which was plenty. Gorgeous day and great excursion! Highly recommend!

Do not book with Anchor tours unless you want to be left high and dry when they cancel on you with one days notice. I find them to be highly unethical in how they handled my booking. They were all too happy to take my money and hold it for a month but cancel at the last minute leaving me scrambling. If they could not do the tour they should have let me know further in advance.

When you booked the tour, you were aware of and agreed to our terms and conditions that clearly stated in multiple instances that we have a (4) person minimum per tour. Where your single (1) booking was the only one we had for that tour, we weren't in a position to make an exception to our policy and hold the tour. It's unfortunate that the tour couldn't be held. We exhausted all efforts until we were left to cancel the tour and give you an opportunity to find something else. I appreciate that you're disappointed that the tour wasn't held but you aren't fully disclosing all the facts of the situation here. We offered to find you another tour operator to assist you in joining one of their tours and you later messaged me to tell me you found one being offered by your cruise line. In fact, we received a message this morning from one of our colleagues indicating that they could assist us in helping you. Despite your caustic e-mails and vindictive review here on TA, I hope you enjoy your stay while in Halifax.

Jack was a great driver/tour guide. It was nice to have a small van with only 5 of us on the tour. Each of us were picked up at our hotels or cruise ship. It was a lovely drive to Lunenburg. Jack pointed out all of the primary sites then gave us time on our own for further exploration and lunch (great lobster roll at Salt Shaker Deli). He also drove us to a great viewpoint overlooking the town and a quick photo stop looking out to Mahone Bay. Then on to picturesque Peggy’s Cove where we had time to see the lighthouse and wander through the village. All in all a great day with a pleasant, knowledgeable driver/guide, Jack.

Peggys Cove lighthouse welcomed us with its rugged charm against the backdrop of the ever-changing Atlantic Ocean, while Lunenburg welcomed us with its timeless allure

This was a really good day tour from Halifax. Our guide, Jeff, provided interesting information both past and present about each place along the way. There are only 2 stops, so you get plenty of time to explore both places. Lunenburg is a nice little town with old Victorian houses and churches. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants. Just walking around the town to see the different architecture types of the houses is worth doing. Peggy's Cove is a nice little fishing village with the well known lighthouse. There is also a nice gift shop nearby. Would recommend this tour if you are visiting Halifax.

Such an enjoyable day !
Everything ran smoothly from pick up to drop off,Reg our driver and guide had so much information to share with us the drive to Lunenburg was a treat. When we arrived in both Lunenburg and Peggy’s cove Reg made suggestions where to eat and which way would be best to walk ( downhill ) We give Reg and Anchor Tours 100% score. He is a retired teacher and it came across in a good way.Unfortunately for us Anchor tours had to cancel our tour to Annapolis Valley which I am sure we would have enjoyed just as much.
