A decent use of old houses we guess but scant reference to what was there before.
A few interesting shops, like Cool As A Moose, but visit if you’re passing, not as a destination.
Can see the ferry terminal nearby.

Best part is this place is the Lower Deck. The buildings are interesting but the stores aren't anything special and some of them are empty. A quick walk through would suffice. If you are in the area after dark though, hit the Lower Deck for some live music.

To see how old buildings have been renovated and brought into the modern world and still being used productively is a lesson that should be learned. It still has an olde world feel to it and has a fair range of shops with exceptionally artistic cups of hot chocolate.

Historic Properties blends in beautifully with a stroll along the Halifax Waterfront, a visit to the Historic Halifax Farmers Market and the Brewery Building. A great place to buy some quality gifts and souvenirs.

A handsome historical renovation project, this is a good starting point to explore the waterfront and downtown. The property has a fair mix of shops and restaurants, though it leans toward being touristy. Merchants are, as a rule, friendly and helpful.

If you are exploring the Halifax waterfront this is a cute walk through. By no means is it a "must-do". Historic store fronts, with unexciting stores. There are a selection of restaurants in the area, which is a nice stop for lunch, or start your morning there with a croissant & coffee at the bakery inside the "mall".

We try to get down here at least once a month and walk the Halifax pier...which brings us to Historic properties. The area has a great vibe with sidewalk vendors and entertainers and lots of great people watching.
Halifax is an old city with lots of buildings having an Historic landmark preservation status. You can find buildings with a plaque on the front, stating the year they were built. Very great piece of our history.

A beautiful historic area at the harbourfront. Its buildings are antique-type and beautiful. Has lots of options for souvenirs and gifts and surrounded by restaurants of all kinds; from junk food to fancy restaurants. Yet, I didn't like that they close very early in the evening at 6:00, so one can't visit after having a nighttime walk by the harbourfront.

Nice place to see, old original buildings of Halifax old times, 1700's-1800's or so , well kept and maintained...small place with some restaurants for a good summer outdoor dinner or a drink

The Cruise ships dock, down at the opposite end of Historic Properties. They dock at the entrance of the Halifax Harbour along Pier 21 on the Waterfront, about a 15-20 minute walk. Pier 21 is where many immigrants arrived by boat, many years ago. A lot of great history inside Pier 21 to view as well.
