Spent hours in what I thought would be a short visit ! I know a little bit more about my heritage. There is also a whole section with helpful people who are there to find out more about your family of you landed by sea...More

Great museum, great exhibits. What is most impressive is that it's the actual site where the immigrants came to escape their home lands and adopt Canada as their own. Both my husband and have I have Fathers that came through here, when they immigrated. A...More

The museum was very interesting with lots of information about the immigrates that came to Canada. Lots of photos and information about what people had to do when they landed in Halifax by boat. Would recommend this museum to everyone.

I enjoyed walking around the museum but it was quite dear for what it is to be honest! Great view of the harbour from one of the rooms.

A very interesting place to visit, especially if your parents landed here in the past. Great mock ship cabins to view, see where people were processed upon arriving. Very emotional too.

I enjoyed the movie and the tour. I should have allowed more time for research but I am so very glad I went.

The displays and guides do a superb job of bringing the history of immigration and the experience coming through Pier 21 to life. I wish there was a bit of this in every city so students could learn their history in such an interactive manner....More

The guided tour was most informative and you will learn way more than trying to tour the museum on your own. We agree with all the prior positive reviews and recommend that you make this one of your "must do" stops while in Halifax.

We are planning a Nova Scotia cruise on Holland America in early August and would like to visit the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 to explore family history. I'm wondering how much time you might suggest be budgeted? Depending upon how much time is necessary, we might like to explore some of the other area historical and scenic attractions (Citadel, Maritime museum, Public Gardens, etc.). Thank you for any insights and advice you might offer.

Hi Jpmack210, If you would like to see both exhibitions, the film In Canada and to visit the Scotiabank Family History Centre we recommend 2 to 3 hours. Your ship will be right in front of the museum so you may want to... More
