Our waitress, Photini, made the whole excellent lunch more fun, we had a blast. we were a group of 11 adults, friends and family, with a reservation. She was knowledgeable about the local brews AND their inventory, fast with orders and labyrinthine payment splits, gave us excellent recommendations about soups and sides and was sarcastically entertaining, a plus for our group. All but 2 had the lobster, which was weighty and meaty and FRESH. several couple split one and were happy they did. I had the bay scallops, which are of course smaller but perfectly prepared, no breading to get in the way and SOO excellent! Another attendee had the lobster roll. We felt the cost was reasonable

Ate one breakfast and two dinners at this restaurant. It was always filled with locals (and tourists). The staff were very efficient & friendly and the atmosphere was busy and filled with the chatter from patrons enjoying their meals. Good food, tasty and freshly prepared with mediocre price ranges.

What a beautiful boat. Sailing either in Halifax or Lunenburg harbors. We did Lunenburg and thoroughly enjoyed it. You get to watch the crew hoist the sails after leaving the dock, and take them down before coming back in. Crew walks around during the sail to answer any questions. Boarding is done on a steep-angled plank, which can be intimidating, but the crew are skilled at helping anyone with mobility issues. One of the most memorable occasions on our trip.

Spent a day in Lunenburg, and was fortunate that the Bluenose II happened to be there during my visit. It was a fairly windy day, so there was some doubt that we would be going out that afternoon. Fortunately, the wind calmed a bit, and off we went. What a ride - because it was a windier day, we got going at a pretty good clip - so much so that the boat was at times at about a 45 degree angle, with water splashing up on the deck on the low side here and there. Definitely take a jacket, and sunglasses (was glad I did, as I made use of both). The views of the harbour were lovely as well. Afterward I overheard a couple of people saying they would have paid more for the trip - definitely worth the price of admission, and a highlight of my trip.

Came in this morning for breakfast. Ordered bacon and eggs over easy, white toast ~pretty easy one would think, you'd be wrong. Eggs were cooked hard not over easy and barely warm. Toast was burnt and deep fried hashbrowns were hard in the centre, bacon was cold. The only good thing about the visit was that the waitress who served me was very polite. If a polite waitress is all that matters to you and not the food, then enjoy the service ~ if it's the food that matters to you.... stay away (at least for breakfast anyway).

Took the opportunity to do a two hour sail on the Bluenose II out of Lunenburg and very glad we did.
After we had cleared the harbour area the crew unfurled the sails and the whole atmosphere changed once the engin3 was cut and we were under sail power alone, very peaceful and relaxing.
All the crew were very friendly and knowledgeable.
Would definitely recommend this attraction if you get the opportunity.

We were lucky enough to be in Lunenburg for the first sailing of the season and on a very windy day. This is an experience not to be missed. Watching the professionalism of the crew as they put up and take down the sails is awe inspiring. When not taking care of their duties the crew mingle with the passengers answering questions or offering information if you have no questions. At least 4 crew members stopped to talk to us a various times during the sailing.

Lunenberg is a nice place to visit in NS, home of Blue Nose. The museums are average pertains mostly to sailing. I would not really spend time for them. Well, the clipper ship was close and under repair when we visited the place.

If you are heading to Halifax to see this legendary ship you will be disappointed. She was refitted last year and the repairs did not work. She is now considered not seaworthy as she cannot be steered and there are concerns about her stability in the water. If you want to see the ship you have to go to Lunenburg where she is firmly tied to a dock - perhaps never to sail again.
