Just before I left Nova Scotia, I wanted to pay my respect to the victims of the Titanic and to the 1917 Great Disaster. It was free to enter this cemetery, but this cemetery was only open for very random hours. It would be wise to check these hours of operation prior to any entry. It was quiet on a Monday morning. I was able to follow the signs to the locations that I wanted to visit, and I just parked my car as I viewed the graves.

If you're a history or movie buff, take a detour to visit the Titanic Graveyard section of the cemetery. You'll see markers for a J. Dawson (sadly, not Jack!) and JW Marriott (no relation).

There are information points available giving some details of the graves but being accompanied by a local guide will greatly increase your understanding of what you are witnessing.

This cemetery contains a number of victims of the 1912 Titanic disaster. We went with a local expert who had a lot of information on the victims and the Titanic itself. If you simply attend by yourself, I'm not sure you would be impressed. If you are there on a tour, I believe you will feel it was worth the time.

This Cemetery is home to some of the graves of those who perished on the Titanic as well as the people who died in the Halifax Explosion. Some of the markers are extremely poignant.

A must see when visiting Halifax! Walking amongst the final resting places of the Titanic victims was very humbling. We paid our respects and took many pictures. Give yourself about an hour to roam.

Walking among the graves, one is struck by the stones with the ages of those who perished on the Titanic. So many young people

We visited the cemetery to view the area dedicated to the graves of the victims of the Titanic disaster. The graves were beautifully laid out in the shape of a ship’s hull. Very emotional visit

The graves for those lost in the titanic were worth a quick visit. Some were more elaborate and explained the deceased's role on the ship. J. Dawson also has a grave marker in this location.
