We chose the wine tour because we wanted to indulge in wine tasting and not have to worry about driving back to the city after. They did not disappoint. The driver was engaging and funny. She made the whole trip fun. There were no awkward moments of silence which was a relief because you never know when you go with a bunch of people you have never met. We had plenty of time at each vineyard to take our time tasting and looking around. I would absolutely recommend this tour if you want to travel to Halifax and dont have a few days to drive out to see the vineyards but its on your must see list. Or if you just want a DD so you can enjoy the wine this tour was excellent.

I had the pleasure of attending the Nova Scotia Icewine Festival with GrapeEscapes, alongside a friend and a small group. The transport service was exceptional, with a courteous driver who enriched our journey by pointing out scenic vistas. The festival, hosted at Luckett Vineyards, was a feast for the senses. We sampled an array of wines from across Nova Scotia, indulged in delicious small bites like the unforgettable Cheese gougères, and were educated on the nuances of Dessert Wines versus Ice Wines. The staff's knowledge and passion greatly enhanced our experience, making it educational as well as enjoyable. Luckett Vineyards proved to be the perfect venue, offering a picturesque backdrop and warm hospitality. I've shared photos and a video on YouTube to capture the essence of this wonderful day. Highly recommend this experience for wine lovers and those looking to explore the beauty of Nova Scotia's vineyards.

We had a fantastic trip on the Wine and Gourmet Lunch tour! J.D. was brilliant! He not only was informative in his descriptions of the region, the history of NS wine-making but also made the group feel happy and excited about being there! I've been on numerous wine tours before but this was the first one in my home province. And just when I thought I knew all about NS wines - I was blown away by how much I didn't know! Thank you, Grape Escapes! And seriously, you should approach some of the local inns up there and have a 3 day tour. A few hours just wasn't enough.

Nova Scotia is a growing wine industry for sure and there's always something new to learn. A 3 day tour would be awesome although not doable at this time. This is specific to the tour on Saturday, August 24. We had JD Gordon our driver and host. He was entertaining and knowledgeable. We were being picked up in Wolfville as opposed to Halifax. We received a slight ($20 discount pp) for the alternate pickup. It turned out that the wineries visited were within a 20 minute drive of Wolfville. Knowing that, I would have expected a much bigger discount given that the Halifax group was transported for an hour. The winery normally booked for a three course dinner had a conflict on our date and we knew ahead of time that the venue would be changed. What we did not know until after the cancellation period was that the substituted venue was a brew pub in Wolfville. There was no discount offered when substituting “a 3-course winery meal overlooking the water” to a “casual dining brew pub with no view”. The menu choices we received ahead of time were less than exciting. Despite all members having pre-ordered their meals, the waitstaff was disorganized and could not tell who ordered what and actually ran out of some of the choices. The food quality was not of a level to justify the price charged. I actually left most of my meal because it was mostly tasteless. My husband and I walked out without dessert because they ran out of his choice and forgot to serve about a third of the group their dessert. Fortunately we could walk back to our accommodation rather than being forced to wait for the disorganized staff to scramble for forgotten desserts. I would not book again with this group. We definitely did not feel that the value was anywhere close to the price we paid.

Colleen was an excellent host on my wine tour of the Annapolis Valley. She was knowledgeable, funny, and was a great host explaining the history and vinticulture of the Grand Pre and Gaspereau Valleys. I would highly recommend this tour and Colleen!

Colleen was our driver and she was amazing! We were a group of 10 so a private tour. She came right up to our Airbnb and then told us to play our music in her car and talked along with us the whole time. She’s great at hitting “all the little things” when making you feel like royalty for the day. She even went back to our Airbnb after, let us stay at the winery, and dropped all our purchased goods off! This tour was 100/10 but mainly thanks to Colleen!!!

Our preference was to do the full-day tour with the luncheon but as it was fully booked, we did the afternoon tour and it did not disappoint! We visited 3 amazing wineries, Planter's Ridge, Grand Pre, and L' Acadie, each with an interesting history and knowledgeable /friendly staff. Our guide, Colleen did a wonderful job educating us about the area while keeping things light with her humour and easy-going personality. I would highly recommend these tours to tourists as well as locals.

This was our second year with this wine tour company and as we expected it didn’t disappoint. Our driver Steve was excellent in showing and speaking of Halifax history and the surrounding regions. He was very informed about each winery we were visiting and the wines we were tasting. The bus ride was comfortable with air conditioning and comfortable seating. Have nothing but good things to say about this tour. First class all the way!

We recently had a great, fun afternoon touring wineries in Nova Scotia with amazing tour guide Collen. Colleen was extremely personable, engaging and funny. She also was exceptionally knowledgeable about both the area and the wines it produces. If you have a chance to go on a wine tour out of Halifax with Colleen of Grape Escapes, do so. It is sure to be one of the most enjoyable and memorable parts of your entire trip.

Our Evening Escape wine tour was great! Easy to book, work out details with the GE team, modify things when needed, easily share costs with the group of friends through the booking directly and most of all so much fun! Colleen was the tour leader and driver and was wonderful- providing all the info we needed and accommodating the group. We had a perfect fall afternoon and evening and will do it again before too long. The wineries were welcoming and interesting as always and a treat to sample the NS wines and ciders. Thanks GE!

HI Mary, we offer a different tour each day of the week. They range from $89-$149/pp+tax. We offer pick up at the Marriott Harbourfront but we could probably arrange a pick up from the North End (depending on the day). Forgot to add that 1 person was even there by herself , but being in a group like this, she just made friends and we all hung out together. So this activity you can do even if you are solo . You will definitely meet new people.

Good evening - thinking of booking Great EARTH Expeditions walking tour of Peggy's cove and had a few questions I gathered from the description there is no tour around the city prior to the drive to the cove is that correct? How many are in the group generally? Do you take a different route to and from Peggy's cove or is the return route the same? How far is the pick up from where the ships dock - i.e. is it walkable?
