Took the tour with a group of elderly family members from our cruise ship. No problems. The 6 passenger van was waiting for us at the dock. It was comfortable enough, even for the elders. Our tour guide was a life long resident and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed seeing the incredible scenery, Peggy's Cove, and the Titanic cemetery. The highlight was definitely eating fresh lobster and raw oysters at picnic tables outside Ryer's Lobster Co. The owner was very hospitable and gave us a real education about the tasty crustaceans! Don't miss it. The big tour buses don't go there.

My wife and I, along with my 90 year old Mom, took a tour we arranged with Eric. Eric is a native of Halifax and gave us a great overview of Halifax. Then he took us on a 45 minute drive out to Peggy’s Cove with several photo stops along the way as well as a visit to a popular shop selling maple goods. Peggy’s Cove was really the highlight of our visit and we loved walking around and taking in the scenery. We had lunch at a nearby restaurant and then took a different route back to Halifax with a few stops downtown, including a city view from a high vantage point.

Eric was an outstanding and knowledgeable guide and he was really kind to my Mom. It was a lovely day and we were all very pleased with our visit.

We arrived in Halifax on July 2 aboard the Maasdam and were fortunate enough to have Eric as our guide for the day. Eric was a wealth of information and extremely personable. We had booked the 5 hour tour and Eric made the most of the short time we had there. Unfortunately, the fog was pretty thick at Peggy's cove, but he still made that enjoyable. We also visited the Titanic cemetery, got a great tour of the city, and drove up to the high peak of the Citadel. At the end of the tour, Eric dropped my husband and me off in town to walk around a bit more and drove our daughter back to the ship. About 30 minutes before we had to be back onboard, my husband realized that he had lost his ship card. When we got to security, we discovered that Eric had found the card and dropped it off at the security gate. For all these reasons and more, I highly recommend booking a tour with Halifax Taxi tours and asking for Eric, especially if you only have a short time in port.

My husband was working in Halifax over Christmas and I looked on Trip Advisor for a few things to do. Our initial thought was to walk along the boardwalk and go to the maritime museum. I have always been fascinated by the Titanic and was looking forward to going to the museum. Unfortunately, it was Boxing Day and everything was closed. Prior to our arrival in Halifax, I read the reviews for this company. I was absolutely amazed by the excellent reviews and loved the fact that we could explore the area and not have to stress about renting a car and driving there. After some urging I was able to convince my husband to do the tour since everything else was closed. Neither one of us quite expected the wonderfully personal tour given by Darrell. He treated us as though we were friends and went out of his way to make the tour wonderful. We went to the Fairview Lawn Cemetery and Peggy's Cove. Given that it was Boxing Day and everything was closed, Darrell called ahead to ensure Peggy's Cove was open. He is so personable and knowledgable. We were blown away by the tour. We ended up canceling our taxi to the airport and had Darrell pick us up the next day for our trip to the airport. Great person and very nice van.

If you want a carefree and enjoyable visit this is your ticket. I hope our next Halifax trip is not too far away.

We only had a day to see Halifax and get a feel for Nova Scotia. Les was great. Picked us up and drove us to the Port, Pier 22, Cunard, select neighbourhoods, and universities and down to Peggy’s Cove and the Swissair memorial. We then went through the titanic graveyard and downtown Halifax to the citadel. All in all Les is knowledgable, pleasant, a good driver and a great way to see the area when you’re short of time

Darrell with Halifax Taxi Tours was such a pleasure to tour with. He is an ex-police officer with a wonderful sense of humor. He greeted us at the cruise ship with our name on a sign. From there, he showed us many highlights of Halifax, including very unique stops which we would have never found on our own. He was very cognizant of making sure all our needs were met, as we had 2 elderly people with us. I would highly recommend touring with Darrel and would do so again if we ever go back.

Had a great tour in Halifax.. with an overview of the downtown as well as the out skirts. As this was our first time in NS.. we weren't sure what all we wanted to see.. but Les did an outstanding job showing up around the area.. Peggy's cove was a highlight.. as well as all the connections and maritime history around the sinking of the Titanic. Definitely the way to see the area.. especially with a short visit to the area.. we were only here one day as a port stop on a cruise.. Would book with them again.

Eric our driver/tour guide was waiting at the doorway of the cruise terminal of Halifax our port of call. There were 4 of us on the Historic Halifax/Peggy's Cove tour and Eric would tailor our tour to our needs if needed. He was a charming and pleasant man and nothing was to much trouble. He started the tour by driving around Halifax and using his local knowledge pointed out the points of interest with photo stops as necessary. Our first stop was the Titanic Burial Site. Here Eric gave us an explanation of the site and some of the gravestones.Next it was onto the quaint town of Peggy's Cove and it's acclaimed lighthouse.Of course he took the scenic route and with it been the fall, the trees were in abundance of various shades of colour. We stopped for coffee on the way at a small deli bakery near a lake where the owner tempted us with his free samples. He then stopped by a house next to the road side where the owner was an artist. The front of the house was a mural of Peggy' Cove with a very artistic garden as well.We then drove onto Peggy's Cove with the lighthouse, restaurants and gift shops. We spent some time here with Eric giving some explanation of the area then we had freetime to explore. It was then back to Halifax for a photo over looking the city then back to the cruise terminal. We all agreed that this was a fantastic tour and we would highly recommend Eric as your tour guide along with Halifax Taxi Tours.

We booked this tour last minute as our tour was cancelled due to rain. We really wanted to get a chance to see the countryside and fishing villages without a big bus tour. We were so happy with our choice. Darrell took us out to Peggy's Cove with a couple stops along the way. He gave us plenty of opportunities to take pictures. He also took us out to the Titanic gravesites to give us some of the background as he did not want us to leave Halifax without a chance to see. This tour totally made our trip.
