The park is large, its terrain ranges from trails through the forest, to boardwalks on the water. Large grassy hills, and swings for children make this a great place for a family picnic.

Just outside downtown Halifax in the Northwest Arm you’ll find a little gem called Sir Sanford Fleming Park, known locally as the Dingle which is said to mean “wooded valley”. It’s a great place to take a walk around or stop for a picnic and the views of the Northwest Arm from the top of Memorial Tower are great if... More

Halifax is filled with park, but this one is my faviorate one. You have the lake where my kids will make sand castle and run. A small play ground. Where they can swing and slide. Lots of different area where you can sit and relax and enjoy the view.

The variety of activities available here to augment our picnic experience here added to the fun for all (especially kids 3, 4 & 8). The playground had some unique structures (lighthouse), the walk along the sea wall was a pleasant aid to digesting our large meal, as were the stairs to the top of the Dingle Tower. The kids loved... More

It's a nice place for walking with pets, swimming near the beach, and a good spot for fishing mackerels, and also a perfect place for boating.

The new seawall constructed around much of the Northwest Arm's shoreline is a great place for a stroll, especially in the mornings and early evenings. Some people like to fish here; water quality can be iffy, unfortunately, but the park itself is a wonderful, expansive oasis with diverse walking trails, including a pleasant one that circles the Frog Pond. Great... More

One of the many public spaces in Halifax this park has a tower from which you can get distant views of the harbour and Halifax area - on a clear day which unfortunately, ours was not. There are many stairs to climb, some wide standard stairs and others quite tight spiral ones. Not tremendously difficult to climb if you are... More
