Love the Building

it is a shame that it has close and is unoccupied right now this is a great building and situated right in the centre of the City. Very nice grounds and statues.

Property is run down and rats roam all over at dusk, dirty disgusting they need to take the building down, or better transform it into something useful for the community.

While in Halifax it was recommended that we visit this building. I wouldn't add an hour to my trip to drive out of my way to see it but it was worth seeing while in Halifax. If I lived there I would spend a lot of time there. Great place with lots of quiet areas and corners. Awesome architecture, lots... More

When I first saw the model for the new library, I thought: Why build a modern building right beside the old heritage buildings in the downtown core, this surely has to look terrible? But when I saw it finished in all its glory, I could not be more surprised, how well the Danish architect has captured the very soul of... More

This library had a lot of class architecturally and provided good service to the downtown for several decades. Did stalwart service - very interested to see what happens to the edifice now that its role has been retired. Hope they find a way to save this memorial building

If you build it, they will come -- this library is a magnificant space -- bright, airy, with lots of possibilities for private space as well. An abundance of resources and a fabulous coffee shop as a bonus! Well done!

The new public library in Halifax is wonderful. Just went for a tour and a coffee and am so impressed. It's not what you'd normally expect from a library. The stacks of books are sparse and have been replaced by lots of open space and interesting computer stations and reading areas. This library is more for people watching and gathering... More

A beautiful new modern library. Not sure what all the fuss was about and why all the money was spent on this building. A great spot to look around and well worth the visit.

Halifax has a new downtown hot spot and it offers the best deals in town. The new Central Library opened on December 15th and was one of the first places I visited during a recent trip. It more than lived up to the numerous news articles I had read prior to its opening. The out of the building is gorgeous... More
