A nice place to stroll down and see the ships, lots of food, parking available for a fee hourly $4 or daily $16. Lots of food and shops. Halifax tour available. Close to Maritime Museum and Alexander Keith's brewery. Wheelchair friendly.

Parts of the boardwalk were under construction, a problem for some. Benches, food stalls, little kiosks with local artisans and a very good Visitor Center.

We spent a whole afternoon there talking with fishermen that were getting ready to head out later that day on their boats. My youngest son met up with a couple of super friendly locals who were fishing off the dock who generously offered to have...More

We did a Segway tour and rode on some of the boardwalk and afterwards we walked to the Saturday market. It's very picturesque with wonderful views of the ocean. We wished we had more time to spend in this city.

Loved the walk around the boardwalk. Fresh sea air, a few boats in the harbour, along with some benches and places to sit and take in the view. You can watch the ferry come and go as well. There are a few coffee shops in...More

Visited the first week in June and was rather unimpressed to see most shops shut on a Tuesday. There were a fair few tourists wandering about ( like me) and couldn’t find anywhere to eat etc.. disappointing.

It is a nice walk with some interesting places along the boardwalk (very informative signs), but do make sure you see more of Halifax than this!

Yes. People walk their dogs on the boardwalk quite often. they have to be on a leash and you must, of course, pick ul after them. If your dog is cute (and aren't they all?) be prepared for the occasional petter.
