better than san Fransisco or Seattle
a great way to spend a day. plenty of places to eat or get a snack (specially if you like ice cream). museums are interesting. tourist shops and upscale shopping are plentiful. people watching is superb. maybe a few more benches - or activites would improve things but it's pretty good already.

    A great beautiful walking city
Our trip was on a cruise ship. We never had any plans to take a New England cruise but the price was right. The places we stopped at were nice, but just okay. But walking in Halifax was memorable. The buildings were high end and beautiful. The waterfront was beautiful. We made the difficult walk up to the Citadel. Was worth the struggle and the heat. The views are magnificent and the history astounding. Highly recommend.

    Nice place
We came down to the boardwalk several times, the first time we got on the end of it, that was not the popular area and thought it was not that great. However, the other times we got into the popular area where they have lots going on with food and different kinds of activities like segways and jet skis and fishing and things like that, and it was a lot more fun. Definitely get an ice cream while you're on the boardwalk. Watch out for parking because it will take a long time to park if it's a sunny pretty weekend day.

    Lovely Walk
What a great place to take a nice walk any time of the day. The place is lively with an eclectic vibe. Impressive sculptures about the volunteers in WW2 and the gentleman leaving for the new world to make his fortune. Lots of places to eat and drink.

    Waterfront boardwalk
It's a very lively place. There are restaurants, shops, museums, art installations, plenty of benches, playgrounds. Especially kids enjoyed the chalk markings on the ground (hop/scotch, chalk maze, crab walk, alphabet hop...). The harbor traffic is very busy here. You can see all the kinds of ships here from luxury yachts to warships and large cruise ships to humongous cargo ships.

A Nice Way to Explore Halifax with Plenty of Photo Ops
While in Halifax, we took walks on the boardwalk twice. We visited the Maritime Museum, which is directly on the boardwalk. We also checked out Boardwalk restaurants for dinner on a Saturday night. There are numerous restaurants and bars along the waterfront. They range from those geared towards adults to the family oriented. There is street food along with fine dining. Be sure to check out the drunken lampposts and other curiosities. Plenty of public restrooms are available. A number of public parking lots leading to the waterfront are open. They are metered. You may find street parking as well though it is unlikely on a nice weekend. It is a busy and popular spot, so be prepared for crowds. The boardwalk is level, and therefore handicapped accessible

    Great Excursion
Really enjoyed wandering along the boardwalk viewing all the crafts for sale, the sponsored sculptures, music and food vendors. Was able to catch the final day of the music festival. Highly recommended.

    Great people and dog watching
We didn't walk the entire length of the Boardwalk but did see enough to get a good feeling about it. Many restaurants, even more shops, and some museums are here. It's more scenic once the morning fog starts to lift.

A Beautiful Walk with a View!
Halifax was beautiful!! It was a nice walk down to the Maritime Museum. We loved the museum and learned much from the displays. The Titanic artifacts were displayed well and the connection was very interesting. The boardwalk itself was absolutly beautiful.

A sunny day with blue skies and very pleasant company as I walked along the waterfront! Plenty to see, lots of information points, multiple places to sit and soak up the atmosphere. Add in the benefit of some very well stocked establishments offering such delights as freshly baked rum cake and hay ho a very delightful morning!!

This is one of the best boardwalks we have seen travelling. There are some great restaurants and shops along here but watch out for the birds that are always around looking for a free meal.
Hard to find an outdoor eating spot not covered in bird goo.
We saw multiple cruise ships in port and it was an easy walk to get back to the ship.

The Halifax Riverfront Boardwalk was a great Promenade in order to view the waterfront. There were nice images of Dartmouth and of the surrounding islands. I also got to look up to the downtown areas of Halifax. This walkway had many gift shops, restaurants, bars, and other businesses. Some apartments were located just off of this area. There were also a few museums located alongside this pedestrian avenue. There were some artistic displays alongside this walkway, and I felt perfectly safe taking my stroll. I would just advise people to bundle up as it can get quite chilly.

A great intro to Halifax, well signposted.
Walked from one end to the other a couple of times, visiting various attractions along the way and not visiting others ….

Having been up to the citadel, we walked along the full length of the boardwalk to get back to where our cruise ship was docked down at pier 22. It was a sunny Sunday and the waterfront was very busy. There are lots of shops and restaurants if that is what you are looking for. A pleasant walk.

We came here after visiting the nearby Maritime museum and finally finding a parking spot (my recommendation is to go towards the southern part of Waters street, as the road is only one way here) then having a bite to eat at Salty's, walking the boardwalk where most tourists seem to be and grabbing a Beaver's tail in this area packed with lots of cheap foods, icecreams etc

Very touristy and very cute.
